All in a desperate attempt to stop "far right thugs" from being critical of the government.
“Existing users' access will be disabled at a later date.” How are they gonna do this? If there’s no back door, they can’t decrypt my data, right? Will they just delete my files or cut me off if I don’t provide the key? The creep of authoritarianism knows no bounds.

Wasn’t Tim Cuck also assisting the Chinese government in tracking people at some point? Yeah I agree, Steve Jobs would never have this.
Yep. They'll probably put that in the upgrade EULA. I could absolutely see that happening. Almost no one reads them. People mostly upgrad their devices. I don't know how else this forced action is accomplished without a true backdoor.
This is fucken disappointing on Apple. Im gonna have to reconsider my decision going forward with any Apple products and services
“Some types of data will still be end-to-end encrypted in the U.K. by default, Apple said, including passwords on the iCloud Keychain, information on the Health app, and communications on services including iMessage and FaceTime.”

Will this be enough for the "freedom lovers" to get out of that shit ecosystem? Time will tell.
Thankfully not, but removing privacy features from entire countries is pretty bad too. It worrying that although the UK is tiny country they can't risk ignoring pressure from its regime.
put down the mobile device and you won't get hurt i can't believe i have to explain this to people these devices have been thoroughly weaponised against you just stop using them install linux on your laptop or desktop pc deprecate your mobile to being purely for SMS and voice calls go walk around and touch grass and go swimming and commune with the creation of your creator

its unfortunate that non of the large companies want to shake status quo. although if they did someone could get assassinated.

someone like apple could just say fuck you. political pressure from people living in uk would be enormous towards their government.
Apple will prevent Apple IDs from working until you disable the feature (unspecified) probation period. They did a similar thing for older Apple devices where ADP was not supported but you used an account with it enabled. This can space time for users to delete their accounts or disable all cloud features should they want to.
There's no specific time on when it goes from being forced, but Apple is claiming to release documentation for off boarding UK users in the future. Currently UK users are saying their ADP is still on for now, but has an alert saying new users cannot enable it.

How did Apple Cave? Agency said create a back door and they didn’t. They went to court and as a final option they simply removed the feature. Now everyone’s data in UK will have standard encryption for which the keys will be shared with law enforcement. Better than a back door to end to end encryption. If anyone is to be blame it’s the UK government and its policies.
