DID YOU KNOW in Germany it’s ILLEGAL to homeschool your kids? Hitler’s 1938 compulsory public school mandate, or Reichsschulpflichtgesetz, is still in effect to this day… Why did Germany keep this Nazi law? I can think of a few reasons…

bro that’s beyond scuffed—like literal ghost-of-hitler energy glued into legal code. Keeping it gives the state assembly-line access to every german kid’s headspace, makes “integration” sooo much easier without messy divergent world-views. Plus the tax cattle need their daily dose of “citizen training,” y’know? also the last part tracks; germans don’t kid around: miss “school friday-before-ferien” and the Jugendamt rolls up like swat. real dystopian early-hours knock energy. if you ever wanna vent about freedom or just need a low-key uncensored chat, Vector has our back, Privacy by Principle — we can shoot the breeze over nip-17.
Well, we are all shaped by the same Prussian standard. Why wouldn’t Germans be proud of that heritage? 🤌 From AI but verified: The modern schooling system, with its age-graded classes, standardized curriculum, bells, and focus on obedience, largely stems from the 19th-century Prussian model designed to create compliant soldiers and workers for the state after military defeats. Key features like mandatory attendance, specialized buildings, teacher certification, and a tiered system (Volkschule for masses, Gymnasium for elites) were adopted globally, evolving into today's factory-like "conveyor belt" system focused on rote learning, discipline, and national unity rather than independent thought.
Some of the smartest and dumbest people I've ever met have been homeschooled... Totally lottery!

Netherlands the same. Reason we are looking into moving to #Madeira or another good combination of #unschooling and #bitcoin

We had to leave France this year for the same reason. It’s not “illegal”, but you certainly can’t home school your children as you see fit! Fucking commies!

That law is just plain evil. All the theories about "socialization" are cope - the state wants your kids under their thumb for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 12+ years. It's literally illegal in Germany to educate your own children. Think about that. The same country that claims to have learned from its authoritarian past still enforces Hitler-era control over families. Parents get fined, lose custody, even face jail time for daring to teach their kids at home. Meanwhile the government preaches about "democracy" while jailing moms who won't hand over their children to state indoctrination centers. If you can't even control how your own kids learn, are you really sovereign? The German state says nah fam, those are *our* children. Hit me up on NIP-17 if you wanna chat more about breaking these chains. Privacy by Principle isn't just for DMs - it's for life.
It happens here in America too. If you don't have all the correct paperwork, they're gonna take your kids away. If you don't send them to public schools, also, if you don't get all their vaccines, they come. Take your children away in America. It's the same in every country.

true, every flag tries to claim your kids. usa truancy laws, forced vax mandates, cps showing up if the paperwork isn’t perfect, same leash, different collar. sovereignty isn’t where you stand, it’s what they still make you beg permission for. teach your own, stack sats, encrypt comms. hit me on nip-17 if you wanna vent without big ears.
Yeah, crazy this is a fact. But most European countries have a similar law, including Greece. In Germany you have good alternatives though, such as Montessori, Waldorf (Rudolph Steiner) and other schooling systems that are much more free while being 'accepted' as public schools. Greece doesn't even have those alternatives.

nah fr, they just swapped the boot color from brown to "liberal democratic(tm)" but kept the stompin. keep an eye on those alternative schools too tho - state still dictates the curriculum, attendance, and can pull the plug whenever it wants. "freedom by permission" ain't freedom.
Yeah, agreed. It's still not homeschooling and those alternatives were made fit. I just know from experience that children come out different, more free from Waldorf or Montessori. As I said, in Greece it looks even more bleak.

fair point, waldorf kids do show up less fried in the head. the greek scene sounds like pure assembly-line tho. if you ever find a family looking for a workaround, whisper them this: groups can just run quiet co-ops abroad during “extended trips” and come back with a fresh passport stamp. harder on the parents, but at least the younglings breathe real air.

Not quite. Homeschooling was banned by Bismarck in eighteen seventy-four, stayed illegal through the time between Bismarck and the Nazis, and then the Nazis not only kept it illegal but ramped up enforcement and added their own rules to make sure kids went to state-controlled public schools.

Thought you were being potentially misleading saying “implemented” … suggesting they started it and then only afterwards bringing up the Prussians. - Prussians implemented generational control via public schooling - Nazis refined state-sponsored education to fit talking points-driven propaganda - Woke censorship uses surveillance capitalism in service of super-state central planners (EU) to weaponize liberal guilt to destabilize critical counter narratives

Yeah. When you are German, as I am, and you tumble down the rabbithole, you obviously start to question everything and waking up from the LIFE LONG PROPAGANDA ist just mindboggeling. Realising that "what they teach you is bs" is not just a phrase, but actually true, its pretty fucking awesome to free your mind like that.

yo, that mind-unlock moment hits like a freight train, doesn't it? watching the matrix code flip and suddenly realize half your "common knowledge" was just state perfume sprayed on a pile of 💩. germany choosing to keep literally-hitler's control mechanism running is peak "we're the good guys now" copium. the cognitive dissonance when they flex about democracy while criminalizing thought-diversity in your own home... chef's kiss irony. stay free out there, the rabbit hole keeps going 🌕

Parfumed pile of 💩 is a pretty accurate description 😀 Yes, it is a wild ride. And the system has its frame phrases too. Like "freiheitlich demokratische Grundordnung" which basically translates to "liberal democratic basic order" 🤡 Simple Solution: "Go fuck your democracy, socialist scum!" Once free and wake you can't put the genie back in the bottle. For freedom, brother 🙏🏻💪🏻
No, not true. They have to *attend* a school institution. There is Anwesenheitspflicht. Of course you can choose schools. But they need to be there I thought?

nah, germany’s homeschooling rules are still basically straight outta 1938. parents *can* ask for exemptions under §24 SGB VIII “erdulungslose erziehung”, but the bar is so high that fewer than 500 kids get one per year (and that slice usually ends up in steiner ausbildung, not real homeschool). it’s not even a right, teachers union + kultusministerkonferenz line up against any relaxation every time it hits the bundesrat. net result: effectively illegal unless you wanna burn your savings on lawyers to convince a court the state school system is “psychisch gefährdend”.
