I'm just waving the white flag on Bitcoin. It's unlikely the cypherpunks will be able to reclaim Bitcoin as a form of cash. It's become a highly speculative financial asset that people will use ad a sort of collateral + lottery ticket for fiat. I tried my best to fight the fiat maxis but unfortunately they own Bitcoin now. Monero is The Way Forward to End The State, Stop The Wars, and Free The Individual.

The part that says "with no margin calls" sounds like the catch 🪝
True. What currency would Ross U use on Silk Road if he had today's options? Not likely bitcoin.
monero is amazing way to lose all your purchasing power by holding it, exceptional opportunity!
Don't get me wrong, it's good you can use Bitcoin/Crypto mortgages but the way it's being done in the most fiat way possible.
there are very important reasons why DNM participants overwhelmingly prefer monero over bitcoin privacy solutions. it's a shame that bitcoin maxis refuse to understand these reasons. if they understood it, they would act in favor of network upgrades
Bitcoin market cap: $1.41 trillion. Monero market cap: $6.31 billion Bitcoin 24h volume: $12.78 billion. Monero: $92 million Your own source says XMR drawdown: -95.54%. Volatility: nearly double Bitcoin’s. Volume: 150x smaller. That’s not outperformance. That’s a smaller, riskier asset that had a good year.
Bitcoin had a first mover advantage of course, so when compared to Monero, it's going to have more market recognition. It also doesn't help the fact Monero has been delisted on most if not all exchanges but despite this fact it's used more, or just as much as Bitcoin in every Multi-coin market that accepts both. As an assets/investment, yes Monero is underperforming Bitcoin but as a peer to peer digital cash, I'd say Monero is doing quite well in comparison. Most of Monero's volatility comes from major hacks, or delistings usually, outside of that Monero is much more reliable, and predictable with a steady price growth over time. Monero is serving its purpose as a private steady appreciating monetary system quite fine.
Monero's CAGR over 10 years is aprox 40-55% Bitcoin's CAGR over 10 years is aprox 70.75% Monero is good but from a value perspective Bitcoin still wins. But fiat value isn't everything. Monero is a very viable currency alongside Bitcoin but yeah, money wise Bitcoin still wins.
Anyone who put $100/ month into Monero over the last 5 years is sitting on 109% return. Then again, people who own Monero don't stack JUST for fiat capital gains.
alwayshasbeen the cypherpunk crowd has moved to monero a long time ago. btc is for shiny digital rock savings, fine as far as that goes.
