The Court of NY approved service of process by fucking op_return, this is amazing: https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=xOYmAqJwEquz_PLUS_feeyVKrlQ==

@npub1zaal...ufw0 says its the MtGox hack address. I have to assume people with claims on these coins would want to get involved in this fucking case. Another address he’s making a claim on is potentially Bitfinex coins according to Arkham. Paolo Arduino of Tether you would think would get involved! https://intel.arkm.com/explorer/address/1AC4fMwgY8j9onSbXEWeH6Zan8QGMSdmtA

Brilliant! Are we supposed to be regularly checking all of our addresses on Mempool.space to see if there are any op_return legal notices waiting for us? 🤣 I don't know that I've ever used a conventional wallet that even shows me if there's anything in an op_return. (for all I know they all do, but I've just never received an op_return)
So is this laying groundwork for more claims in the future this way? They approved of this attempt to try and find the owners? And aren't these all just addresses? So users would need to scan all addresses derived from their xpub? Wtf
Im curious about the end game because contrary to what I said to @npub1utx0...50e8 yesterday I’m now unconvinced he actually has any private keys though some people have acted like he moved things. He just dusted address with legal warnings.
Me too. What trickery can he pull if the courts deem him/her the owner of the utxos. Really wanna send an opreturn to one of them saying g 'knowing is owning, courts don't mean shit here'
Truly doesn't make sense if you actually have the keys to go down this route, it didn't add up
If he had the keys, my earlier theory would make sense wanting to wash the coins so he can move to an exchange, but after reviewing some of the addresses, he definitely doesn’t have the keys. The fact that he’s trying to claim stolen Mt.Gox coins are “abandoned” is really something. Whoever being his lawsuit (who petitioned to remain anonymous) seems like a real dirtbag. I guess the idea is if 20 years from now a private key appears and moves the coins to an exchange he can swoop in and claim ownership indefinitely—an asset by Order that his company would maintain for eternity.
