"Running" Bitcoin Core on a computer simply isn't enough.
You must use it to:
1. Verify incoming payments and wallet balances
2. Broadcast transactions.
In other words, you need to connect your wallet to your own Bitcoin node.
Sparrow Wallet makes this easier.

You can also send a transaction not using your node, but verify the outcome on your node.
Not ideal compared to full usage, but it's better than most make it out to be.
Coldcard + Sparrow + Core
This is the way
I use other nodes to broadcast transactions over tor.
Then I verify my node receives it.
You don't own a computer?
That old desktop computer in the attic, the one you replaced and tossed aside?
That is your new bitcoin node #bitcoin

You can use the wallet which is shipped with Bitcoin Core
And run #whirlpool
3. Verify confirmation that your transaction has hit the blockchain
In this fee market? Also why whirlpool spcifically instead of JoinMarket or Wasabi?
Whirlpool instead of wasabi, as whirlpool doesn't engage with chain analysis firms and transaction censorship, and yes, this fee environment is fine as users get free remixes when others decide that the fees are acceptable for the service they require. Its not really that expensive anyway.
I was talking about things you can do on your own node, can you run your own client on those other implementations?
Run a pruned node I bet you it'll work.
Lol why would that happen?
When you get a new computer,
Let's try it out on this old one ๐
Whirlpool creates unmixed change and reveals common input ownership which links your transactions together. Wasabi upgraded to a new coinjoin protocol that allows inputs to be consolidated without revealing they are owned by the same user, and doesn't create unmixable change.
