⚡🇬🇧 NEW - The UK government is moving forward with new rules under the Online Safety Act that will ban VPN services for anyone under 18. VPN providers will be required to carry out age verification. This is expected to involve ID checks or other forms of personal identification to confirm users are 18 or older. If enforced, adults in the UK would also need to prove their age with official ID to continue using most commercial VPN services. The stated purpose is to prevent children from accessing age-inappropriate or harmful content online.

Tor, i2p, decentralised VPN, education on Fdroid and Obtainium. If VPN providers play it smart they can be of great service to the general public. People found those VPN providers over years to combat the state. They will find their way again. It however will be a good litmus test which VPN to trust more over others.
At least they didn't go for an outright ban. If you use a proper paid VPN they have your details either way. What matters is that the traffic isn't linked to you. Still gross of course, but better than I expected.
Wow it's like all tue countries controlled by zionist traitors are waging war against their own citizens
Fair point, I am not a coiner so to me a proper VPN is one of the established providers known to have good anonimity but I forgot people here have a better solution which is finding one that doesn't ask for your personal info and then just pay with crypto. If those providers comply with this law its a bigger issue. But most providers will want to know your details and for those it won't matter.
