If you’re a true Bitcoin maximalist, spend $100 of your stash to study Bitcoin’s competition
Buy some Zcash, try shielded pools & spend it via NEAR Intents
Buy some Monero, mine sone with your CPU, learn how the subaddress system works & buy something on XMR Bazaar
Buy some Ethereum, try Uniswap & create your first contract
Buy some Litecoin, try MWEB and then spend it at a merchant
Buy some Decred, see why their implementation of Lightning is more stable
Buy some Bitcoin Cash, play with CashFusion, CashTokens & see what you can do with the covenants
If you’re a true maximalist, you must think in terms of maximizing: bringing all the popular use cases to the network in which you are emotionally and financially most invested
Learn from other projects, then try to figure out how it can work on Bitcoin
You don’t need to buy more than $10 of each coin, consider this your education budget
Once you learn more, you will become a more valuable community member in Bitcoin. Not a cheerleader, but someone who can compare and think for himself.

Agreed…
And now we have shitcoiners taking victory laps and trying to get us to buy their shitcoin bags…

No thanks
You’re asking too much of The Bitcoin Normies who only care about HODL-ing, Vlad.
Yeah, let's not focus on building around a robust protocol and spread our attention among many types with various economic properties, use cases, code attention, and social network effects. That way we can make sure that the dollar stays in place as the defacto monetary exchange unit and get debased to hell. Love that idea.
No need for a Schelling point when you can send everyone in 30 different directions.
Spending $10 on each shitcoin isn't the gamble; the gamble is spending 10 hours of my life studying protocols that will be obsolete in 2 cycles.
Buying their bags is not 'education', it’s just subsidizing their exit liquidity.
If I want to learn about I’ll read the whitepaper of a dead coin for free on GitHub – no need to buy it.
This is a tone deaf message at the moment.
You're telling bitcoiners to spend time learning about non-bitcoin stuff at a moment when we need to be re-evaluating our own trust models and security setups.
I think it would be cooler if they could receive tips/zaps in other coins if people want to send a few to them, then they can use it, play with it, sell it, dump it all, and try it that way, it also feels like a gift that you received not a thing you bought and has to sell for "lost value" in the process, with a gift you at least end up slightly better than where you were before it, so it's a winwin
I dunno, not a maxi but I'll say I like that bitcoin wants to stay just money. The problem is of course that it isn't money, it can't be in its current form. But I also like other things, experiments, attempts at use cases and innovation elsewhere. I'd never want all the extra stuff to become part of bitcoin, all I'd like to see become part of bitcoin are things that make it sound money. I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon.
Many of these aren't dead coins. Think of it like countries; just because the US is massive beyond imagination doesnt mean countries like Brazil or Malaysia are "dead" countries. And it doesnt mean the US can't make a fatal mistake that leads it to collapse.
Some of these other networks are alive and kicking and they dont have to be the biggest dude in the room to be effective.
You can't monopolize peoples attention. Its not a conspiracy that peoples opinions and interests differ from yours. The day will never come when the whole world only fucks with bitcoin, and thats especially true with how bitcoin is currently, both the neywork and the community.
Why? Bitcoin doesn't need new use cases. It has one purpose.
Shitcoins are not countries 😂
(throughout history, many empires have disappeared/destroyed)
Yes youre right, I addressed that
> think of it like
as you can see.
This reads like a stuck-up vegan or hypochondriac...
$10 is "bags" to you lol? If you're down that bad i'll send you it, damn
