Oh absolutely mate, I am with you. Sad and thing is for some 10k sats a month are a bless as salary. When I read at McDonald's in US people get 35/40$ hr and here in Italy average is like 12/14 €, being a G7 nation.. just to say everything is relative, and bitcoin is the only metric we can use to see the actual difference there's in the world, and many do profits from those arbitrage, hence push for lower salary. To not be slave we choose with our feet and decision, pay proper salary, Yes, but also be keen to make hard decision in order to obtain a proper salary.
this is a 0.75 position people underestimate how difficult content creation on the spot is for a brand that is not your personal profile

Yea, their proposition is completely laughable. You can easily spend an hour PER DAY just researching trends, and that’s before you ever think about making any content. And then you have to actually make the content and each platform has different demands on how content should be made. And then engagement with audiences. I’m rolling at this offer 🤣😂
I posted the job. Wanted to have a one hour weekly call with someone who could help us with social media. Thought 10k sats an hour would be fine, wasn’t looking for them to do anything outside of the call. How much should we offer instead?
content creation per se doesn't really work on nostr, at least the way ppl think about it in legacy social media over here it has to be really personified and genuine, instead of politically correct ambigious bs have been a content creator for another brand before, and it really is way different here otherwise as you said, ppl see it as spam and mute it
I was thinking one call we would go over post ideas, another call would be brainstorming social media strategies, another call would be scheduling posts, another would be collaborating on meme ideas. Wasn’t expecting to knock all that stuff out every call. Could have explained the position better, it’ll be interesting to see who responds. I’ve accepted freelance jobs for less, just trying to get a foot in the door and some notches on my npubs resume
Sounds reasonable wanting to start creating the team. 💜 Maybe the scope of responsibilities can then also start smaller to then grow as the project and compensation expand.
I don’t think it will be an effective approach. Social media moves fast. The expectations on the person are not clear. Are they consulting only? Also creating content? Discussing and planning strategy alone is going to require more attention than 1-hr per week. And content creation itself can take several hours per week, depending on what type of content you want them to create. At 10k sats per hr, you greatly limit the pool of potential talent that will even consider this. A more typical rate for social media freelance work probably is like $50-$100 per hour.
I mean you have to post a lot and engaging audience, but it is possible for sure. But I don’t know how much social media managing that role is needed, too…
They replied in a different thread and it was clear to me that the role isn’t defined well. Anyone taking that job will quickly run into “scope creep” where they start asking for more than you agreed to.
