Thinking of running my own node. Do you or does anyone know: I spend time between two different locations (6 months here 6 months there), do I need to take the node with me to each location? Btw, in one location I have Wi-Fi to which I can connect an Ethernet cable, in the other location I can only connect via 4g Hotspot through my phone.

Iโ€™ll add that using your phone can be tricky but if you use orbot or a browser that is tor compatible, itโ€™s pretty straight forward. The important thing is to make sure you have access to the onion addresses for the server wherever you are, you could use a password/secure note organizer like nordpass or vault warden so you can access the addresses from wherever you are

Thanks, I really appreciate your detailed reply., which Iโ€™m highlights a challenge: I need to first familiarize myself with tor, onion addresses, Alby, etc. I once downloaded Alby extension on my pc but gave up after several attempts at getting the thing to sync and work; it was not as simple and straight forward as I had anticipated, even after reading and watching videos about it. One day thoughโ€ฆ

You could choose one location and the leave the server there all year. Or you could bring it with you. The latter is probably the better option in most cases. The server needs Ethernet. So if you want to bring it with you, you'll need to figure out some kind of WiFi extender with Ethernet port. Usually $15-$20. However, there is always a chance the server will need to be manually restarted if something goes wrong, so if you choose to leave it at one location, you would need to make sure someone is available at that location to restart if necessary.
