Primal just launched a new content moderation system for Nostr. I go over the details and our reasoning in my blog post below, but here’s the tl;dr of what we are introducing today: - Perfect transparency - Complete user control - Ability to opt in or out of filter lists - Ability to subscribe to other users’ mute lists - Ability to specify “never filter” allowlists Enjoy! 💜

Great roadmap. Frustratingly I have not seen other relays or apps publish details about their they filters or moderation methods so all credit to you for doing this. Its how the Nostr network should be built.

Great! I'd be nice if muting an account also removed reposts of their stuff though, currently this is not the case.
Nice work! Now if the web app didn't take 30 minutes to load, is more like iris than the speedy web app I had grown to love.
"How do we find signal and avoid the stuff we don’t want to see?" "This simple tool is effective but laborious because the user needs to mute each non-wanted account individually." I haven't felt it to be "laborious" at all. I just mute spam if I see it. Seems strange to mute entire lists of people because someone else didn't like them. Seems like it's encouraging group think/tribalism. 🙄 What's the default setting for new users?
I really like the approach @miljan and the Primal team takes here. Give the people an opportunity to tune their own "algo", let the user decide their own feed! Will be fun to see how well this works. View quoted note →
Nice. Moderation is a group activity, and it doesn't work if it's everyone for themselves. Glad to see some experiments on doing it communally.
Glad to see @primal & @miljan take the high road. We are Nostr, together we can build a better tomorrow! Cheers to Unity! Pink Floyd - "Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall" Cc: @semisol @ODELL @jack
