Not a fan of the holidays because it means I have to hang out with family. I've always been the black sheep of the family and the disparity only grows wider as time passes.

Cheer up Jameson, maybe try to understand their perspective more no matter how dumb or boring you might think it is.
I am as well but enjoy being one. I have an aunt that we don't agree on a lot but we enjoy being the outliers and get a kick out of it at holidays

Rather be the black sheep then the only sheep brother. Count it as a blessing. Just be present. Don’t stress it too much. Just chill.

lol... you don't really have to say much... just hold your head high and sit there and smile! They all know. Then if any one actually shows curiosity, you can share with them how to get on board the train. Merry Christmas!

The black sheep have more fun
I felt this hard! For me It’s a weird life to be a black sheep of sorts for political and social reasons, but also be the only married household with children. So everyone wants to visit but also incessantly complain. 🤷🤷

Nostr, the social media platform full of "black sheep". Merry Christmas.
Do you really “HAVE TO” We’ve been staying in these past several holidays because it’s just much more peaceful that way. Still spend enough time so that death doesn’t cause any guilt but separate where I have peace of mind. I feel you though brother it’s tough.
You know, this makes me think about the history of the US. I would say the Renaissance writers and "founding fathers" were the tail end of the curve when we think about all the nations of the earth and the histories we know of.. there was a tiny population which made the way for a nation that's still relatively small (in population) compared to other large counties, based in the most radical ideas of individual liberty since roaming nomads. This is a little closer to American exceptionalism than I would typically like, since I'm an individualist, but I have to acknowledge that those who are exceptional seem to be drawn together, and form exceptional groups to do exceptional things. I would say that the US has done this, specifically in the enormous context of all known human history. But, I do feel blessed to come from that tail end, rather than the middle of the curve where we find the most population in Asia. But there are exceptional populations in Asia too (like siamstr). Anyway, old guy rembling here... #nostr #nostriches #plebs #plebchain #history #bitcoin
