"It is not the least bit coincidental that adults who commit suicide with firearms almost always shoot themselves in: the head. They shoot the terrible master."

If so, why post words of someone who has NOT Mastered what they say? It's sad thing if he did kill himself and would I take anything from his words it is , 'don't wast time talking about Truth if I don't know how to live it'.

Perhaps, we learn from our mistakes and other their mistakes/missteps. Could be I reacted a bit quick on judging. I felt I wasted my time listening for 20 minutes, hearing many wise words and a beautiful metaphor used, whilst feeling less the vibe of the truth he claimed to say when he went on his rant on the daily routine/grocery story. I don’t agree on that words would never be shared if we set some bar to clear. I’m may be setting a ‘bar’ only for a subject like this, because people in search for a higher truth may encounter many false “Gurus” on their path before they find one whom lives by their words. If I may try put his words in the wisdom that a JC, a Buddha or some other enlightened Being would say; I don’t think we would have heard of their existence if they killed themselves. I picture them saying what they said, having students/disciples follow them, being fully devoted and trusting in them. What would they do after their teacher apparently was not able to live what they said... Because suicide comes from depression, being unhappy with life, finding it hard to coupe. Would they follow his lead and do the same? I remember a family-member killing themselves, and their story was that of switching between pills, so I recognize somewhat the tragedy of how things can play out when someone is making an effort to battle depression but the pills F them up even more. This man spoke to a group of graduates and probably had some impact on them, good or bad. Or maybe first good then bad, or bad then good, whatever. It happened. He spoke. He clearly made an effort to help his students not fall into what he was falling into himself. He had knowledge on how to life a true life, a happy life, my reaction was more on why let his words echo if he clearly did not Master them. 🙏
Wow. Fantastic!! I loved it. Never saw it before. Totally my vibe!! I made this just for nostr a few days ago…

Very important to learn how to think and what to think about 🧡
Ah. Yes. Wisdom in the midst of pain. Reality without redemption. Powerful. This is my water as well.

A long time ago my paintings are inspired by Dave, my big dear brother introduced him to me and told me " every time I see your paintings they make me feel like Dave Foster speech" and from that day everything changed. And that @Gigi talk about it make me very happy! This is water! 🧡 And "I wish you more than luck" ...

All the people clowning DFW have never read any of his books, and it shows.
100% Few hold the title of “great American novelist” and DFW is one of them. From “Consider the Lobster” to “Shipping Out” to “Infinite Jest” to “Everything and More, a Compact History of Infinity. The man was a genius in every sense of the word. For anyone interested in a collection of his short stories, find “A supposedly fun thing I’ll never do again”
I always recommend that collection as an intro. I have a weird thing, I’ve been saving the pale king for over a decade. started a few times but got to sad at the thought of no new works from him once i finish it. might be time

I don’t take fitness tips from a fat man. I don’t take mental health tips from suicidal deadman.
Tldr: Not judging the world automatically & without putting in some effort is what the speech is about. How about you listen to it and then decide for yourself? Or did you? I couldn't pick that out from all the judgment. Think for yourself. If you did the "work" and listened to the video and come to that conclusion, then I respect your opinion.
I feel this is sad and unfortunately unnecessary. Cold water, physical activity and sunshine would have helped. Anyway, the path of development of this wonderful being will continue. In the next incarnation.
