I'm curious why zap wouldn't use something like NANO (XNO) though as it is already feeless, and is also almost instant (without the need for a second layer). It really seems like a no-brainer.

This. Part of the point of zaps is to show them on the note; if Zapple Pay sends them to the profile instead they loose half of their purpose.
My current workaround is to zap posts at the end of the day from home on Snort.

It zaps the note, not the profile. But the zaps are sent by the Zapple Play nostr account. Still, very good workaround!
Block needs to work on an open source phone OS to compete with the App Store monopoly.
I think that's the missing piece of the bitcoin story.

So does this work in conjunction w other wallets, such as wallet of satoshi?
I donโt use Alby/NWC so I built an alternative to zapple pay which will work with WoS no problem
