⚡️👀 FLASH - Latest activity on Nostr: @jack : July 21, 2026 @Adam Back : July 2, 2023 @Edward Snowden : May 30, 2024 @Michael Saylor : April 24, 2024 The founders, the icons, the voices... they’re gone. No content, no users. No users, no network. Nostr isn’t taking off because the people who should be there aren’t there anymore. We’re building cathedrals without bishops. These are people who understand Bitcoin, cryptography, the risks, and so on. So why aren’t they here anymore? Because Nostr offers them nothing they don’t already have. Because their audience is elsewhere. Because the promise of “be your own platform” doesn’t hold a candle to “be read by 100 million people.” Nostr is an interesting technical solution but is rarely used, and as long as that’s the case, people will speak where they’re heard. That’s why, in my own small way, I began transforming Nostr in 2024 by integrating daily news into it. That’s why, in my own small way, I started turning Nostr into a daily news feed in 2024. Not just to make it look nice. To attract people. And above all, to keep them coming back. Because a network without content is an empty space. And no one stays in an empty space. I’m not really into news bulletins, but if you want people to come, you have to give them a reason to stay. Content is the fuel. Nostr had the engine; it just needed gas. I came to provide it. image

One of Jack Dorsey's companies just published a nostr client that probably doubbled the DAU #a of nostr but they are not on public relays. So he's here.
It would be nice to have more of those present here, but it's OK. Nostr is more useful in Latin america and places where censorship is a real problem, eventually it will come to Europe and USA too.

I enjoy reading the people who ARE here. I don't give a flying fuck about what Saylor has to say. I'm not even sure I want Nostr to grow - I like it right now. Who knows what it will be like if a couple of billion people join it. Might be better, might be worse. We'll find out if we find out lol.
Good job man! I use Nostr because I feel good here. I share my modest creations here almost as a diary and I can interact a little bit with cypherpunks, bitcoiners and other creators. With an anonymous account here, I feel like I can be myself. ✌ On X, I want to kill people (metaphorically). 😉
