we need more bridges to bluesky. bridge everything. don't respect borders. they don't exist.

I think this is a great point. network tribalism only benefits centralization
nostr's main benefit is actually about being able to have isolated networks bluesky and other social networks don't make this easy, except garbage like matrix and xmpp which don't enable generalised discussion or any other use case particularly i hope you read this message because most nostr devs don't understand that the whole POINT of nostr is being able to partition it, that's why it's not a distributed system, it's just a protocol
Build the bridge and let the bluesky ban hammer send people over to nostr
Perhaps there is a distinction to be made between borders and boundaries. Without boundaries can anything actually exist in any sort of meaningful way.?
Wouldn't expect too many to pull notes from the bridge relay. Love the idea about bridges for open comms but I'd only want to see their notes when responded to by follows or I'm connected to a bridge. And that's gonna be a big bridge.
Yes though, because that's nostr. If someone wills it it will be. However you'll be able to block their posts easily so no worry.

Don't respect borders? I wish that for the next week you experience the actual meaning of your words and then think again. A border means that beyond that boundary something is precious and protected. If you stand for nothing and protect nothing then maybe you should abstain from formulating life advices for others.

You have not read the Declaration of Independance? No physical borders to speak of. This simulacra will eat the world. Only Sovereign Individuals. We go where we want and do what we want. You misunderstand either ignorantly or purposely the intent of the note. Read our declaration.

I see this is applied to cyberspace only. I, for sure, still have a living body. If there are some floating heads (beware, because this is what zombies are), surely they can run by this declaration. I have nothing against it🤟

yes but it is impossible to make a truly decentralized social network
When you say "don't make this easy" you mean the heavy lifting involved on their side? This from one of the atproto leads: "One form of decentralization I could try to emphasize here is independent Lexicons. For example, this blog post is published using whtwnd.com, a blogging platform built on atproto. In theory the Bluesky relay or appview being down should not impact whtwnd (which I believe pulls directly from PDS instances)" Seems this WhiteWind is some kind of Yakihonne on atproto. As I understand they will have spun up their own child relay and are using that to pull from a select set of PDS instances to create an isolated network. Very much a guess though, I could be way off.

If it weren’t for taxes, the world would have no borders worth protecting.
Well that was always something the nostr protocol was going to have to handle if its supposed to be a true alternative to Twitter. If the protocol can't scale to that size without a few massive relays doing all the work, then it's Bluesky with extra steps and a muuuuuuuuch shittier UX. That means it's not a serious global social network IMO, moreso one for niche communities only, just like Mastodon is looking to be.
