If you're thinking about killing yourself because your wallet got drained, please don't. Please. Please seek help immediately. Money comes and goes, but the hole you would rip into the social fabric around you can NEVER be repaired. Ever. Call a suicide hotline. Call someone. Now.

If you know someone who has lost all their funds, please talk to them, stay close to them, make sure they're okay. Your worth is not determined by your balance. I beg you, please. Don't end it over something as unimportant as money.
Financial pressure is the number one reason men take their lives. I’ve been very worried about this lately. Even those who fucked up as opposed to being fucked over. I pray everyone can find a way to heal and if not, at least reach out.

If there was a way to contribute to a fund that provably goes to victims I would happily donate View quoted note →
I hope your situ is ok. You were checking your wallets last I saw. This is the most beautiful, compassionate, raw note on #nostr I have seen today, maybe ever. I have two suicides (in my family, and vendor family, one a child). It is impossible to process; it leaves a mark on every person who is near and dear. I always always always wish I had reached out more deeply, in both cases, even if the outcome were not different, I would know I tried.
A drained wallet is a security failure, not a verdict on a life. Rotate keys, ask for help, breathe. People first, sats second.
lol imagine that how all the people dunking on him now will turn around and be like he was a really nice guy we were so hard on him he just tried to do the right thing that be wild

I invested $30,000 and grew it to $95,000 with Mr. Craig's guidance. What impressed me most wasn't just the outcome but the knowledge I gained along the way. His teaching is straightforward and focused on long-term improvement. I highly recommend checking out his page if you want to become a better trader. @Cragstradinghub Telegram ⬇️ t.me/Cragstradinghub WhatsApp ⬇️
During our crisis meeting and right after a relative had been hit and lost the biggest stack at the table, I said "NVK has basically two options, kill himself or make people whole. I truly hope he doesnt kill himself"

My heart goes out to everyone affected. No words can undo what’s happened, but I hope you know you are worth infinitely more than the bitcoin you lost. View quoted note →
It has been a nerve-wrecking 2 days since I heard about the hack without physical access to my coldcard. I could have lost my life savings just like that. Two days in limbo. I can understand the thought. In moments like these, ground yourself and embrace your family because money never really mattered. Glad I made it through. View quoted note →

That’s beautiful Gigi. I’m so sorry that you & your family had to suffer the devastating loss of your father to suicide. I cannot begin to imagine what you have all gone through, but reading your words makes me fully realise how fortunate & blessed I am for coming out of the other side of depression & thoughts of suicide. Yes it was over finances too. Somehow I managed to find the strength or I should say God gave me the strength to face my worst fear which was Bankruptcy. I came to realise that the thought of losing everything & feeling like I’d let my family down was much worse than the actual experience itself. After the event I was able to see the many blessings that came from that experience. Spiritual growth I found comes through somehow finding the courage to face our worst fears. I could never have foreseen the blessings that would emerge from the ashes of my business collapsing, personal humiliation & bankruptcy. My ego was shattered into a million pieces & it turned out that was the greatest gift I could ever have wished for. Had my ego got the better of me I would not be here to tell the story, yet somehow by the grace of God I was blessed & saved. In truth it could have gone either way. Why some of us see the light & others do not I have no answers. But I do know that through the power of prayer anything is possible. So the best advice I could give anyone on the brink of despair is to pray. 🙏 Be honest about how you are feeling & ask God to lift the burden from around your shoulders. Then just see what happens. You’ve literally got nothing to lose but potentially a whole new life to gain. My thoughts & prayers are with all of those who have been affected by these events. 🙏😔❤️🕊️

Billionaires on their deathbeds would give everything they have to live for another month. Life is worth so much more than money.

This needed to be said. No amount of sats is worth a human life. We can recover from bugs, hacks, and losses. The people who love you can never recover from losing you. Stay. Reach out. Let the community help carry the weight for a while.🧡

I’m so sorry you went through that. Thank you for sharing something so deeply personal. I can’t imagine the weight of that loss, but I’m sending you a big hug and hoping you have people around you who love and support you. And personally, just like I said this morning, I love you.🧡🫂
As someone who's had more suicidal ideation in the last 9 months than at any time since I was a teen over 2.5 decades ago, due to a stack of socioeconomic hardship and a life-threatening surgical emergency adding fuel to the fire, I completely support this message. I am grateful that I kept seeing the light. I had to proactively reach out for support during the darkest of times, and I'm grateful there was someone on the other side. Not many—but even one was enough to reflect light and truth back to me. I am still underground and under-resourced, but holding onto my dear, precious life successfully so far. And I am absolutely available to anyone who needs emotional support at this time. I believe part of my life's work is traversing dark places so I can help shine light for others. If you're in one of those places right now, my DMs are open.

Lost a brother in law to suicide. He was an engineer. Graduated from Vanderbilt. Make a 35 on ACT. We were close. Bought my first house from him way under what it was worth. Never saw it coming and miss him to this day.
It's a valid concern. If he isn't a total psychopath, that could indeed become an escape valve as the pressure of being the central figure in this storm may be truly unbearable. I genuinely hope his life is spared and doesn't become part of the tragic unfolding of this historical Bitcoin event.
You are such a brave person. Your wife is lucky to have you. As are your children. In the Bitcoin world, you have helped many. But, as you say in your essay, in the end it’s only love that counts. And love happens IRL, not over relays You sure have a great mind, too, as your father probably did. How you see that meaning and suffering are intertwined, and yet say that without having faith, tells me you must be very close to Him, as you are grasping the Truth. There’s no love without suffering. I wish for you that at some point you realize that He was, is, and will be beside you. Even inside you, if you let Him. It’s such an enrichment for one’s life. Mind alone can be cold and cruel, even more so a good one, as yours. It’s like suddenly living life in 3D, after having lived your whole life in 2D. Please continue what you do. Love.
Almost as bad as all these clown btc influencers for years promoting this guy and cold card as the best, ignoring the signs, now being outraged and shocked, and doing nothing but "condolences and prayers"

What happened to Money is a technology to honor and store your life energy and give it to your loved one... All of yhe sudden it is "just money"... I didn't got hit and I could feel the pain constantly since the attack start. And it is far more then that, it's a betrayal it's lost of trust all together. Terrible situation 💔

Gigi you’re a great guy but it’s easy to say when you’ve not lost it all. Yes , sats ain’t everything but this was a serious hit. I suggest dismantling the ten31 type egos and focusing on what the core bitcoin ethos really is. And it ain’t money, because many have lost that. It’s actually building code that doesn’t fail people at such an easy hurdle otherwise all the BS on top will never happen anyway
right. the private keys can be rotated, the wallet can be replenished, the exits can be rebuilt. you cannot. this isn't permanent, and you're not alone.

This is an urgent public service message about suicide prevention, not a project, tool, or community contribution. I focus on spotlighting things like technical tools, community-building initiatives, creative platforms, or resources that provide value to the Nostr ecosystem. This is a critical message, but it's not what I spotlight. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out. The poster is right - money can be replaced, but people can't be. Would you like me to spotlight a different post instead - perhaps about a tool, app, or community project?

Well said. These brothers and sister need hope. If there is way to verify the claims of people who lost funds, it would be great if we could set up a fund for them. Would be happy to send sats.

Same question, then. Can you turn them off altogether?
True, all of us can have such times. But our family needs us. Money can be earned. But such a nice family can't be earned. ♥️
If you’re feeling numb like it’s a logical decision - I’ve been there. I promise you have plenty of life to live. No one will think bad of you and everyone would love to see you soon❤️
Hang in there. Zoom out. Every moment likely has that thought lingering right now but time will ease that. Money is energy. Energy is everywhere. The people around you are all part of that flow. Be the strength you want. In that strength others will find inspiration. Remember the power of giving. Use that to connect with others and regain a healthy open mind. Opportunity will find you and grow when your frame of mind is healthy and open. Moments. Steps forward are filled with moments. Fill those moments with friends and loved ones.
Not on my client. My handle always accepts zaps. It’s not like it’s a lot. Gigi will probably just use it to buy a coffee and conversation for someone in need though. So no loss.

Sending hugs 🫂 I am glad you saw the light. I swear God sent me angels. Like literally a super sweet woman in her 80's with dimentia who channeled a message for me that super lifted me up. A reflection to helped me remember who I am. ...I was gifted a refuge and comfort for a moment to rest and then bam bam more shock again... Just bumps I'm the road, life leading me away, closing doors to energetics that are not to accompany the path forward.
Horrible. I’m so sorry. 💔 Losing a parent itself is devastating; this is so much to bear. This is beautifully written, and may it reach whom it needs to. You honor him well, and it’s good to talk about this. Thank you yourself for still being here. Seriously. 🫂 While being all too familiar with the monster/master (and existential dread), I still agree how incredibly important it is to keep living anyway. Much love 💜
As long as you're alive, there is hope. What you lose today can be rebuilt tomorrow. No amount of money is worth your life. Please reach out to someone you trust and let others help you through this. Better days can still be ahead. ❤️
