Don't go with incandescent light bulbs as they can generate enough heat to light the pine needles on fire once the tree inevitably starts to dry out.
Keep the base's water supply topped up daily to keep it from drying out too soon.
Know the height of the ceiling where you want to place it and the approximate width/circumference you want before you go looking for the tree.
