If this guy resigns and leaves Toronto to sip martinis on some tropical island we'll know why. 🏝️🍸
Assuming he stays put and cooperates with whatever investigation takes place, then we'll never need these. 🙏
Comical but enlightening - not professionals, now I’ll trust ledger trezor blockstream. All makes more sense - big teams and professional standards and a bigger canary in the coal mine footprint. I feel stupid and heard of a single dev that worked on coldcard. Don’t blame the engineers though I’m sure they feel just as ridiculous.
I honestly feel bad for them I’m sure they are worried about their safety and no one should be considering this their fault. This is a company level failure both on process and culture.
Yes. Dev's eye view of things. The dev who committed the change in 2021? Completely clueless. The company? Criminally responsible. This goes beyond simple incompetence.

tbh all this scrutiny makes me think it’s now the most secure option. it’s also a massive failure on the communities part that this code was never checked by apparently anyone. is it seriously true that nobody, not even his enemies was auditing the code ?
It seems everyone just kind of took for granted that they would not have fucked up the most basic thing. Heartbreaking
