They're communist apparently but they very much emphasize competition between businesses. They also put a lot of related factories together in a single area and it lets them develop and manufacture stuff easier.
I feel like the way its going everybody is going to distill and/or train off of somebody else's models. And the top is gonna be essentially diff names of all the same model. This is why both gpt/anthropic pivoting toward cowork and such to establish an ecosystem.

They didn't crush anything, their model takes twice as long to do the same tasks so they aren't cheaper. They improved but.....

β€œCommand” economy. Businesses are capitalist but the state has the right to part ownership, and often does. The government isn’t democratic so they don’t play politics but just get on with governing. When their government wants something done, they aren’t impeded by any opposing parties or government bodies. When they say go left, 1 billion people go left. That being said I’ve been told the government itself is terrified of its people to an extant. 1 billion people mad at you isn’t something you can just ignore.
