I say as anxiety clouds my thoughts while I hold this phone....
The customer that called while I was in chat was asking me about the pagers. That's why I ended up on the phone so long.
To receive pages, probably. Do you not know what a pager is?
Phone manufacturer can definitely hide bombs in devices, or hide a security flaw allowing the phone to overcharge and overheat itself to start a fire.
I wish I had advice for what to do about this, but I don't. This is one of those things like drone strikes we all have to fear the authorities having the power to do to us as society keeps collapsing further into dystopia.
If you're taking the threat of a phone bomb that seriously, I would try to use small phones you can use in one hand.
Less space for hidden bombs, and less chance of crippling both hands.
