Its "the third world" for ngo green hairs
it's because they got ashamed from saying the third world to describe poor countries.
Sounds like a 1990's long distance telecom provider. Call your grandpa with Global South.

I would have guessed there's magnetic / polar south which is "true" south and global south which is what we think when we look at the globe and maps. all this other stuff is just dipshits co-opting the English language again.

Don't you mean the Mason Dixon Line? because the equator is a different line.
It's an alternative term for third world or exploited countries. It means all the countries that the British and USA empire have stopped from developing so their resources can be exploited
On "the news" they use it to mean "not america and israel" but it's absolutely just the southern hemisphere and folks are using it to further divide. Because that's what the powers that be want, divide and conquer. I'm so tired of so many people in this "freedom space" being so hung up on politics and everything mainstream media shoves down our throats. I came here to get away from Facebook, Twitter, and instagram.
No, the opposite. Politically correct wokies don't like the term. Google "is the term global south offensive" to see for yourself.
