Nobody is actually against Bitcoin having spam filters. Fees are just another filter, not fundamentally any different from any other filter. Even Core is adding _new_ filters: TRUC and ephemeral dust are two recent examples (mandatory in Core, and optional in Knots). They're just against _you_ having a say in what filters you get to use. They want to dictate that you use the filters _they_ choose. Instead of decentralized policy, they want a centralized policy. (And they're not even choosing sane ones! Who in their right mind wants to relay CSAM???)

Harsh words. What have you done for bitcoin? Do you just have something against this guy personally?
I run a business accepting bitcoin. I’ve onboarded 500+ bitcoiners into self custody. I’ve run 4 top 30 lightning nodes either directly or for other people. And I also have something against Luke who is emotionally manipulating lots of low IQ morons.
How low do you presume my iq is? You guys and the name calling. Jeez Great answer by the way. Really clears things up for me. I might have missed the more subtle nuance due to my low IQ though.
I don’t assume anything. If you follow the rubbish that is coming from Luke you clearly can’t assess facts from emotional fiction. I judge you based on your actions, not assumption.
...who don't consider Bitcoin Core to be the most Holy and Glorious Bitcoin node, and most thoroughly infallible, so why would anyone want to resist joining this Church of Core? you sound like a fanatic, bro.
Maybe it is a grift. Let the child porn fly I guess. They announce this change and he sees an opportunity to boost his fortune. Do I got that right?

To the contrary. It gives the power to the Bitcoin Knots node runners and miners. People have the freedom to configure Bitcoin Knots settings the way they want. Defaults are sane. DATUM / Ocean offeres decentralized mining.

Putting the whole op_return debate/argument to one side, I’m surprised at how centralised Bitcoin is in general. I never realised that a group of individuals basically run it. As a pleb I assumed Bitcoin just ran itself, however as we are witnessing it can actually be meddled with.
> I have the freedom to choose my own settings. And have you? Chosen your own settings I mean. Or have you accepted the defaults in knots and followed the crowd. You don’t have to answer here. You can reflect on your answer.
You didn’t answer my question. I asked if you chose your own settings. Did you review them. Understand them. Actively decide on them ? Or did you just run knots and virtue signal to the world ?

Yes, I made my own choice how to set my mempool. See this note below. You can check out the videos. There is step by step guide for each option.

Solomining Bitcoin with Bitcoin Knots full node, Bitaxe Gamma and Datum Gateway on Ocean 🤙 Its an increadible awesomeness 🧡. Helping decentralize and keep spam-free Bitcoin network with Bitcoin Knots, participating in the mining and being part of the fairest lottery where one can earn the hardest money on planet Earth. Info how to setup Knots and Datum Gateway on Debian based OS are in Mechanic's and the team videos but the mining is set up as pooled mining. In Matt's video he shows how to setup for solo mining Bitcoin. But he did answer. By avoiding my question. Had they not have replied fine. But replying with a statement which looks like an answer while being vague and non committal is just weak.
1. non commercial shit wants to happen on bitcoin 2. we have filters to discourage it 3. people work around filters and do more damage than if we just let it happen. 4. we relax filters 5. shit happens which is less damaging than #3 ^^ official. The speculations are around core being captured by interests which want the relaxation.

"We're hearing things like Citrea is better than Ethereum," Chainway Labs co-founder Orkun Mahir Kılıç told CoinDesk. "It'll be better with time, because there's like $1 trillion, as of now, sitting in the Bitcoin blockchain. It is the most secure, battle-tested and decentralized blockchain. And we are bringing decentralized finance to it." 🤡🤡🤡 https://www.coinglass.com/news/91227

We should be cautious balancing the opinions of people opposing decentralization at every possible level. Such in this case as node implementations Specifically id they run “for profit” organizations.

What happens when you use DATUM to solo mine? Also, that is a hell of a way to earn...1-2%

What did you write a reference implementation? Or did you just download a program and run defaults, and project that on everyone else.

Well, my issue lately was all manipulations and gaslighting by Core. It didn't make sense at first but now its cristal clear. At the discussion of this change on Github they censored opinions of Bitcoin contributors just for mentioning Citrea ... which was super strange for a Freedom project. And then all the manipulative technical shit mixed with gaslightning and even attacking the Bitcoin Culture and Values.

So, you understand what OP_PUSHDATA does? And if so, why would making it useless be beneficial to Bitcoin's data structure?

Yes but then the intent is the key here. If you are fine with Ordinals and Runes and Bitcoin turning in something like Ethereum is fine. To me, Ethereum is a shitcoin, and the below is spam This is Bitcoin to me - Decentralized Freedom Money. image

I looked at your link. You're just shilling web3/AWS nonsense. I am not persuaded by your call for change. Try some other BlOcKcHaIn.

Lightning is superb technology, small fast payments are needed. Bitcoin is Money. For non monetary on L2 ... not terrible not great. But I read BIPs 300/301 for bridging shitcoins I don't like that at all. Bitcoin is Bitcoin, the only decentralized freedom money and should not introduce shitcoins.

The miner direct APIs are at least doing the sane thing and monitoring what gets added to the permanent chain. This behavior is preferable to a free for all. I guess we disagree on #3
> Nobody is actually against Bitcoin having spam filters You state an opinion as fact. you can't talk for "everyone"
"Fees are just another filter, not fundamentally any different from any other filter" please stop
if you are relaying blocks with illegal data in them then no your conscience is not clean. makes no difference if the illegal data is in blocks instead of the mempool. will you completely stop relaying blocks??
what a stupid question there's already plenty of 'p in the bitcoin blockchain, that everyone is storing and relaying when they run any bitcoin node, that can never be erased. nobody gets to claim moral superiority or a clean conscience. it will be much easier for us to get past this, just like every other time this kind of FUD was popular, if every node runner just admitted that they don't care.

Filter out nodes that don't relay CounterParty (XCP) transactions Are the only ones I'm eluding to. Kiddie pervs got a special spot in hell waiting for them...fuk those lizards.
if you really wanted it to stop you would advocate for a fork that forbids big OP_RETURNs and ordinals and other things, in consensus. but you don't. you won't even talk about or acknowledge the possibility.
for the record I don't think there should be a fork that forbids large OP_RETURNs and I believe core's arguments such as pieter wuille's recent stackoverflow post are 100% correct. but I'd be open to taproot getting patched if taproot is ugly
My comment was towards Mleku specifically, not you; they've called others shitcoiners for less, including being truly critical of the state of Bitcoin in 2025.

How was monero today? 🤣🤣🤣 Want to rollback that theory🤣🤣
A good SoV tends to be diversified. Always a good idea to keep a few Monero around just as it was a good idea to keep some BTC around 10 years ago.
