Sometimes people that are contrarian (bitcoiners) don’t realize how easy they are to control. If you’re always contrarian, you’re just as predictable as those who conform. Total resistance is still control because they can steer you by expecting your defiance. Power lies not in answering every challenge, but in choosing which are worthy. They want to own you. Deny them your reactions, and you deny them power over you. When you master your impulse to react, you master yourself because those who cannot be provoked cannot be controlled. The strongest response is often no response.

Is that not the same for principles then? Have principles and also be controlled through them?
Besides, suddenly agreeing with someone you're usually at odds with on some specific issue can be even more satisfying than slamming them with a brilliant counter argument. It's nice on a human level, as well.

or maybe just don't always be reflexively contrarian... that's another way to not be predictable.
