The Bitcoin network has just surpassed the historic milestone of 1 Zeta Hash. 1 ZH/s (one zeta hash) is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (one sextillion) hashes per second. This is the number of times per second that all miners combined try to solve the proof of work. image

Source? This doesn’t even seem remotely possible. I don’t believe that monthly range (12/3-1/3) is anywhere above 850eH

Hashrateindex.com showing well below this so I’d say this is misinformation
Just stacking additional zero digits, nbd.

I love how we can all fact check this using our own independent verification methods.

Ah I see, but that is an estimate for an individual block. Most miners will use the 7 day average to smooth out the volatility of vastly ranging hash rate estimates. I’ll be impressed when the 7 day average hits the 1 ZH/s threshold. Thanks for the link.

That’s what I figured. Thanks for confirming
This is a massive milestone for #bitcoin. Expanding hash rate is sign of vitality for the most trusted, decentralized, global monetary network
