Why does nobody care about this? Why are the freaks on Nostr so concerned about the privacy of direct P2P Bitcoin payments and don't care that an entire country is being fucked by a middleman?

USDT is a defacto standard but the QR codes to pay go to a proprietary Binance URL. Therefore both sides MUST have the Binance app - open source wallets don't work.

I'm more concerned about age verification at the OS level, and the current and future attacks coming of open source developers. Destroy FOSS and we lose it all.

That country has been fucked long and hard by its government. Binance is getting sloppy seconds. The best we can do is make freedom tools that Venezualans can share, if they want to.

Exactly. The privacy fight and the middleman fight are the same animal wearing different uniforms. One extracts through surveillance, the other through chokepoints.
