hear me out: bitchat file / audio / video transfers between two devices directly via tor, no file storage service in between.
so many cool things you could do with tor.

WiFi direct? It seems too heavy for Bluetooth.
Wow
wifi direct is not interoperable 😢
Wow. Está evoluindo rápido
Top. 🚀
Wi-Fi direct would be very nice
Yeah I forgot I don't care about iOS shit.
It would be sweet if you could somehow have a user download bitch app from someone else's phone without being connected to the internet.
Oh that's amazing idea especially for protest where internet has been cut
awesome
Just keep making my life cooler and cooler
I don't receive notifications when my app is closed but on background and my wife send messages via bluetooth, is this intentional?
Thanks for building! 🚁👍🏻
"Directly via Tor" - isn't that an oxymoron
Yep thought about that too
Is there any way to do multicast audio?
And also way too slow for file transfers
Tor? 🤮 This is what pears.com is for
@Guy Swann's PearDrive is building exactly that 😉
no. Tor does several megabytes per second.
irrelevant detail. same with the entire internet, nothing is truly direct.
you should. iOS or android?
Not even the same category.
Are you not talking about file transfer? Im talking about file transfer
Its literally what you described, except actually has a chance of working because it doesnt use Tor lol
Tor is way more powerful than just a NAT traversal protocol of which there are dozens out there.
But thats literally what youre proposing to use it for in this product. Maybe youre unfamiliar with Tor, but it is NOT designed or optimized for file sharing. Its a whole thing lol
Slapping Tor on something isnt a novel solution, and it would suck for all the reasons everybody knows it would: Tor is incredibly slow
Calle is a real cypher punkt. we owe her a big time and all the dev that contribute to open source . giving back power to people .
Him, not her :)
Could u also do it over ble mesh??
#wormhole
Both Android, Im testing with Samsungs A05, A32, Note 10 Lite, S20FE and Tab S9 Ultra.
In today attempt I receive a notification saying that there are 2 people around, but not that they are sending messages
I use the GitHub version
I will make more tests
It is way to slow
Checkout https://tryquiet.org/, p2p messaging with local Tor onion addresses.
100–300 kbps from BLE Mesh, that’s in the same ballpark as ISDN’s 128 kbps, but BLE Mesh is not designed for the same kind of steady data transfer.
Him , not her 😁
isn't this basically Briar?
Secure messaging, anywhere - Briar
Secure messaging, anywhere
Loool
Have y’all looked into Localsend protocol?
