Yeah, I've thought of that too, it's easier to plant trees than change the government, so if we move somewhere with better government but not our preferred trees, we can plant those! We don't have water here though, so the trees wouldn't last long if we tried it. I grew up in the North of Sweden, and my husband got to take a drive down the coast in spring and it's one of his favorite drives cause it was like 12h of lakes, ocean with islands, and pine the whole way down!
