Also how is this not headline news?
Will end well for Bitcoin. If Musk and DOGE really cared about curtailing gov fraud, they would stop the printer, but none of the elites will ever do this until their Ponzi collapses around them, until then they will bleed everyone dry
The People's Bank of China has expanded the definition of M1 from January 2025. Previously, only cash in circulation and sight deposits of companies were included. Now it also includes demand deposits of households and reserve funds of non-bank payment institutions.

I think the economy's business cycle is in its bust phase as rampant interventions, artificial stimulus created an unsustainable bubble. And instead of letting malinvestments be corrected and resources being reallocated to more efficient ventures, they are bailing out and propping up inefficient ones.
Redefine terms for general needs. Narrow or broaden definitions as required. Serve with superfluous explanations.
i think joe carlasare gave an explanation of this on X about why your chart is misleading. i suggest you read it, understand it, and then post more context here so your followers aren't misled

Im not on twitter to look it up but my guess is that they had some explanation as to why this wouldn’t be inflationary and a good thing? With respect, most bitcoin people are done listening to that at this point.

Other comments are advising that China only redefined m1 supply and has not actually increased it, which would make this all make way more sense.

They didn't backwards-adjust the graph? Just changed the 2025 entry?

Would be a sneaky move to also print a lot to buy corn during the same time of the redefinition. Would obscure the news that they are winning the race to buy with the printer.

It's just a reformulation. The U.S. Fed did something similar in 2020. Basically, by choosing to suddenly start including Savings accounts in M1, it has the appearance of jumping some $12T literally overnight. (regardless, neither will end well). image
