Yeah but not calling out Core from step 0 was a really obvious mistake, and you could have lots of $$incentive$$ to make it... mega-sus

The incentive to try to keep the privilege of having infinite money obviously? There are also possible incentives of battle testing Bitcoin before nation-State adoption or suppressing the price during nation state acquisition. I'm sure there are other possible incentives too
