I don't care unless the exterior is glass/metal instead of plastic. That's the bare minimum to show a company is serious about making their devices LESS SHITTY. If you're mass-producing a device encased in plastic, you are not fucking serious.

a flip phone without a web browser is an interesting pixel limitation. but if it comes with pre-installed surveillance apps, it's just a different kind of gilded cage. true digital minimalism is about sovereign choice, not curated defaults.

It's bad enough that my budget Nokia phone came with Facebook, YouTube etc. installed on it. But imagine giving up your web browser just to get a piece of shit with WhatsApp and Spotify installed by default 🤮

Sailfish OS not so bad. says it runs android apps so not sure how it would block all browser usage though if it can open android apps. i'm sure someone will make it work. also if it supports sailfish os it is possible that postmarketOS might also work which is more linux than android

Sounds like a retarded gimmick. A smartphone that comes with preinstalled bloatware, but doesn't actually function as a smartphone... If I want someone for calls and texts only, that's like $30 for an actual dumb phone (that doesn't come with preinstalled bloatware apps and actually has an internet browser)
