You know that widely held statistic about how 50% of all marriages end in divorce?
Not quite.
About 60% of all first marriages succeed.
If you are over 25, college educated and have low financial stress the number jumps to 80%.
The data is skewed heavily by baby boomers (higher divorce rates) and serial divorcees. Roughly 70% of second and third marriages fail.
Despite current cultural beliefs marriage is good and healthy and on average creates higher satisfaction in both men and women who participate in it.

I assure you that whatever the real data is - Bitcoin will increase the divorce rate significantly in the next 50 years.
Bitcoin will wreck all institutions - especially relationship oriented institutions - until we figure out how to rebuild them around its existence.
Just the opposite:
Women initiate the majority of divorces.
Women married to self sovereign men who hold their own keys know they can’t just fleece the guy. They’re much more likely to play nice in that scenario.
How much did big marriage pay you
This is the kind of signal worth boosting.
Marriage is not a failed institution. It is proof of work for love, family, discipline, and long-term thinking.
The doom narrative gets clicks because despair is easy to sell.
But commitment builds trust.
Trust builds families.
Families build civilization.
Bullish on marriage.
Bullish on depth.
Bullish on people who still choose permanence in a disposable culture.
Marriage is not doomed to fail.
When you know what you're committing to, it works.
The problem starts when each person enters it still focused on themselves.
Sounds about right. Data source?
Look
Lololol*
Good nuance
Marriage is not always a happy experience, and it requires hard work, but is profoundly rewarding.
Statistics showing how many of ANYTHING fail are meant to steer people away from trying.
The mindset and balance that Bitcoin often reinforces in a person is compatible with marriage. A Marriage of healthy origin and Bitcoin harmonize in a way that removes the institution from the marriage. Marriage being an “institution” is a fiat thing. Marriages that lean on the paper and the law are built on the wrong premise and that in itself leads to their false expectations and failure. Marriages that are a low time preference life of ongoing dating, growing and building are less institutional and more bitcoiny.
Boomers smh
Preach!

“Relationship Training”
This is an education.
I’ve never heard this counter argument or these numbers relating to healthy marriage before. It’s interesting and sounds correct, is there a place you can point for us to look into the data?
What in interesting set of made up statistics
Wow… only 60% fails!! I will not accept unless it’s as bad as GitHub uptime.
Yo. @HODL today after I read this I learned that 1 in 1500 couples who pray together regularly get a divorce. Mind blown. We should put that in our pipes and smoke it.
There is a fiat institution, yes, but there is an institution of a marriage that lives beyond that realm.
Perhaps it lives in the realm of God. Bitcoin will both challenge the conventional bases for marriages and provide the access to God that will be needed to navigate through them.
Good insight and a real breath of fresh air. Thank you

Thats a similar track to abortion. The 1 in 3 number has a hyperbolic curve bias as well; most females who have had one abortion has had least 3 in her lifetime. Chances are also much high that due to advertising and location of abortion centers, she probably is a minor black female who was raped by an adult male. Abortion has always been based in eugenics, specifically hatred of minorities.

That’s true. Look up Margaret Sanger
Low financial stress? In this economy?
Pictured: the low financial stress

💯 Don’t buy into fiat narratives

I am super glad my first marriage failed... It lasted way longer than it should have. traumatizing. I hope my second marriage if it ever comes is in the 30% I guess.
I saw something the other day that said couples who make out 30 seconds every day get divorced less. My toddlers roll their eyes, but I’ve enjoyed kissing my lady for 30+ seconds everyday
Marriage is way older than fiat.
No, don't. She was absolutely horrid. Let her burn in peace.
Look at pictures of pretty flowers, instead, and save yourself the lobotomy.
Most people don’t understand their innate power so they have a need to be in a codependent relationship. And most suffer in the codependency because they’re relying on others to feel whole. In the higher planes of existence hardly anyone pairs up because they understand they are gods.
Low financial stress, even in this economy, comes from making the tough decisions upfront and together agreeing to spend less than you earn. Financial stress that ruins marriages comes from always worrying about how you’re going to make payments on stuff that one or both of you shouldn’t have bought in the first place.
The only reason people are getting married is because we live in a system where you have to work for money. If we could manifest instantly no one would be married.
It almost as if the 50% stat has been perpetuated by people who want to discourage marriage and the formation of strong families. 🤔
So most successful marriages are full of women who are faking subservience to a mediocre retarded man so they don’t have to work or struggle on their own. Sorry guys.
so 50% of all marriages end in divorce... right?
This data correction revealing that most marriages actually succeed with eighty percent staying together among college educated couples over twenty-five challenges the cynical narrative about the death of commitment. it matters because truth matters and letting distorted statistics frame our view of human relationships without context doesn't help anyone make better decisions. Credit to the one digging past the headline to find the real story.

You're such a fkn white pill
"Feminism is a muddled idea that women are free when they serve their employers but slaves when they help their husbands."
-G.K. Chesterton
That adds up. I don't have a single good friend that is divorced. None in my gen X friend group. I know several boomers though and no gen y divorced. Many of these couples had divorced parents though. Most are on 10 plus years. Kinda wild really
I am not married.
The rationale for me is that when i met my (what everybody else now calls) wife I found the idea of putting up hurdles to keep us together really stupid.
Now wirh more life experience i can see that what i called hurdles might actually be more like "rail guards" that may help you overcome bumps in the road along the way.
In the end i do believe that everything can swing both ways. Staying forced together by marriage because you believe so much in it while being totally unhappy is not healthy while on the other hand breaking up in an impulsive way might also not be the right choice after the emotion of the impuls fades.
I have been together with my "wife" for 19 years now, getting to the point where i almost shared half my life with her. Reflecting back on it i can easily tell you that the roughest times we encoutered came shortly after our eldest was born. Without a single doubt you really get to know each other when a new and tiny lives drags you through the lowest lows of your life while not being able to give up. Something a ring on your finger can never achieve.

You must be willing to sacrifice yourself to your other half in marriage. Two become one. It's not about you anymore. It's about us.
Boy I swear every girl I meet makes my life so much more difficult. It's like they prefer to be a pet. I guess if I don't get married, then I can't get divorced. I keep busy.
I'm on the left, but it's just myself and a dog.
In a relationship for 25 years. Engaged for 15 years. Married for 8 days. ❤️
It's voluntary my friend. And you can also produce your own energy without any human labor nowadays
