Did we realise it was the good old days when we were living it. I’m appreciating my future good old days now. Happy 31st freak!
When communities stop being built for families and start being treated like investments, the life drains out of them. You lose the laughter, the noise, the future.
Yep. Most of the trick-or-treators have grown up in my neighborhood. Although I did hear some stranger talking about how they go to my neighborhood because of all the cool Halloween stuff we have, like hot dog roasts over fire pits in driveways, kid friendly halloween movies playing in garages on projectors, and a few haunted houses that go through neighbor's yards and around their houses.
Yup, I’ve seen a huge transition to “trunk or treating” events in parking lots and whatnot. That’s what happens when half the young families live in apartment buildings.
We go through great efforts to give our kids the good-ole-days. No video games, no TV, no phones, and lots of free range freedom. I recently grabbed a trailer full of construction wood debris and brought it home so they can build things like forts, tree houses, rafts, swords and shields.

This was my childhood. The neighborhood was alive 🎃 The youth don’t even know what has been lost. The elder millennial must keep the torch.

Wow!! Never made the connection between why trick or treating has become so non-existent in many neighborhoods. This makes perfect sense
I was wondering why we don't get kids on Halloween, but you hit the nail on the head. We're definitely the youngest family on the street.

There’s still plenty of this in neighborhoods around here. But I’m not in a high cost of living area 🤷‍♂️ it’s awesome to see all the different costumes and try to guess what they all are
