I have an HP laser printer that is treating me OK. Don't use ink, clogs way to much. I have heard that Brother is a better printer in regards to privacy however. HP is know to brick their equipment as a result of updates meant to curb the use of non-HP toners.
Brother lasers last for ever. It is likely the interface to connect gets outdated before the printer dies. Mine is almost 11 years old and still runs fine with generic no name toner.

Get yourself a time-machine, go back to like 2010 (or maybe try eBay), and pick yourself up one of these. Mine still works great! I don't use it that much but the toner never dries out... it lasts literally years before I've used it up and need to replace it. https://support.hp.com/lt-en/product/details/hp-laserjet-pro-cp1525-color-printer-series/model/4052979 PS. I wouldn't touch anything newer from HP, because they don't seem to let you really OWN the printer anymore... for that, I hear Brother might be best.

I have a Xerox Laser printer. It weighs a ton but works quite decently for years now…. Only replaced the ink carridges once or twice so far. Much much better than ink jet.

β€œSorry, I don’t have a printer” and wait for their next move.
Iconic scene. The studio execs wanted to pull all of the "gangster rap" out of office space (like in this scene), but one guy in the focus group said he loved it. Would've totally changed the movie
I love my HP color LaserJet Pro. I buy toner once a year and run my homeschool through it so lots of printing I’ve had it for four years flawless.

That's one industry that could do with a shake up.
I have tried many things. * E-ink pads are not the answer. Kids need a printer for school. * Laser printers are the only solution. * Never ever ever ever ever ever move to inkjet. * When selecting a printer, go for the highest capacity cartridges. * $500 to $1000 is not unreasonable for a good printer. * Learn how to diagnose and repair them, between YouTube and AI, there is no reason you should have to replace it. * Don't put anything other than sheet paper in them. * If you must do envelopes, RTFM! If you don't flip the right lever somewhere in the back, you will ruin the fuser assembly (how would I know that?) * if it ges jammed, don't pull on the paper! You need to release pressure on the rollers before removing a jam. * I switched from Canon, HP & Epson to Brother and haven't been disappointed. Your mileage may vary. * If it misbehaves in the first month, return it and get a different design. Laser printers should be reliable.
This was great
