We are told we need mass surveillance to protect civil rights. We are told we need censorship to ensure free speech. We are told we need bank bailouts to rescue the free market. We are told we need compliance to protect science. We are told we need rigged elections to save democracy. We are told we need forever war to secure peace.

You’d be surprised how many otherwise exceptionally well informed people believe most of this. I work in the heart of the evil empire and I’ve tried to orange pill a few of my closest friends, who are very intelligent. They simply don’t see the need for freedom money, I’ve tried for years. The issue largely surrounds the concept of the Eye of Sauron turning its gaze toward them. They do not see it. further to this, they believe if it did turn toward them, Bitcoin would be no refuge as the government can shut all on and off ramps for everyone except the most technically sophisticated off.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. - 2 Timothy 4:3 #biblestr
This is something I've noticed about a lot of the "smart" people, like in tech, where I work. Most of them are book smart and highly specialized in one area of expertise. But "book" is where their smarts end. The rest of their existence is one big exercise in the Appeal to Authority logical fallacy. I had the advantage of growing up in some interesting/sketchy circumstances which required "street" smarts. Like for example, knowing when you're in danger, or when you're being swindled, taken advantage of, or manipulated... and this sense is totally missing from most of the people I work with. It's so surreal.

The great filter
Our ability as humans to grapple with this cognitive dissonance is both a testament to our adaptability and a serious challenge we must address unless we want to become an extinct species

It’s always been this way in Oceania Ser.
Embrace self-sovereignty, for within you lies the kingdom of your thoughts and actions. Govern yourself with reason, virtue, and autonomy. External forces may buffet you, but your inner citadel remains unshaken, a realm of wisdom and self-mastery.

Perhaps. Or you bought the popular lie like many other fools. Fact is, we will never know the entire truth.
It seems to be occurring to many people that the things we are being told are not true. But why should it be different now? My thinking is that the lies benefit the status quo, and acting on different information brings change. I don’t know which is best. That is why it is important to have many actors.

We are told we’re a danger to ourselves if we are allowed to think for ourselves
I believe the 60+ straight judges, many of them Trump appointees, who took an oath to uphold the Constitution. Every single one laughed that nonsense out of their courtrooms. 100%. That’s good enough for me. Still, I recognize that there is no amount of proof that will convince conspiracy theorists, so enjoy your comfortable delusions.
β€œWar is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is Strength”
Yes! Same experience this side. Really smart people think they have nothing to hide too!
I will stick my head in the sand and claim strategic ignorant bliss. I would rather be happy than have to prove I’m right.
We are told this is no β€œ1984”, it’s completely different…….. we’re doing it the right way.

Judges don’t investigate. They rule. Clear their was some fraud. Always is to an extent. If you think judges are always right, how do the wrong people get imprisoned. I want to see all the evidence. We never will. You might be happy with that. I’m not.

Most states are solid. With a small percentage of invalid votes. But when counting errors and voter list discrepancies show up where vote differences are small, errors become significant. I vote to nullify the stupid ones like Biden voters. Those 80 million or so morons.
So the Republicans who won did so fair and square but the Democrats who won on the SAME BALLOTS only succeeded because their votes were rigged. Got it. I love NewsMax logic.

Nope. None are legit. You could argue even in states where fraud is minimal, they aren’t legit. So as I see it, none of them are elected.

Don’t care about that. Most of what you have said shows ignorance. Seems pretty common.
I’ve experienced this exact situation and I’m sure we have shared the same feeling of shock and horror as well as fear that this many people are refusing to wake up. 🀯

Orwell was an optimist
Why do I like Bitcoin so much? Because it's the only proposed solution that I have seen that makes any sense. It's transparent. It's open. What you see is what you get. A permisionless protocol that invites all to cooperate together from around the world using fair, incorruptible, unbreakable rules. View quoted note β†’
Censorship is the biggest crime of all... As it prevents people from solving their own problems individually and peacfully. Censorship grows a dependence on the state or the all seeing eye, the censor of all censors, the centralized power.
We live in the craziest time in living memory. We gradually allow such elementary encroachments on fundamental rights and until there is no turning back. That's why every single one should contribute daily to not allowing such interventions 🦾
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
β€œComrades!” he cried. β€œYou do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for YOUR sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Jones would come back! Yes, Jones would come back! Surely, comrades,” cried Squealer almost pleadingly, skipping from side to side and whisking his tail, β€œsurely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?” Now if there was one thing that the animals were completely certain of, it was that they did not want Jones back. β€œBut if there was hope, it lay in the plebs. You had to cling on to that. When you put it in words it sounded reasonable: it was when you looked at the human beings on nostr that it became an act of faith.”
Mate, you're being way too literal about the word "rigged". There are many factors that make elections less representative of the people, and we are encouraged to support them: - federal agencies with power to enact policy without democratic accountability (justified on the grounds that they're "experts") - massive levels of lobbying and political funding that undermine what people thought they voted for (justified on the grounds of "donations" for the "common good") - shenanigans at the party level that ensure only palatable (to the elite) candidates make it onto the ballot (justified based on the circular logic that they're "electable") Try not to get so hung up on the wording, and attempt to see the bigger point 😽
Who are you listening too....? Sounds fucking depressing man. I'd find some new sources. It's a beautiful day outside!
All goes back to the creature from Jekyll Island. It's so hard to express how important that fixing the money is, if we are going to have a future that involves freedom. Live free or die.
