I was hacked even though I had 2fa and control of my phone and email. When the hacker was counter attacked by my followers they posted the N word repeatedly which caused Twitter to automatically shut down the account. I have files support tickets. Crickets. Twitter is fiat. View quoted note β†’

I am so sorry this has happened. We got to get more goldbugs on Nostr. I left twitter more than 2 years ago. And I haven’t looked backed. Zaps are the future. At least that’s what the kids say.

Selfishly, I look forward to hearing you more here on Nostr.
They cloned your browser sessions and cookies. So they have a cloned access to your email, x etc.. whatever you’re logon to
ms co-pilot and apple siri, can't trusted. scanning every second of what you do on your computer and saving it back to a database ..... umm. who has access to that? how easy is it to intercept? glad to see you here though. thoroughly enjoy your perspectives. good luck and GM πŸ™ƒ
Well Nostr is to Twitter what bitcoin is to fiat. Except that it uses a lot less energy

porn is what burns. boomer would have the same problem here if his nsec got compromised.
I love that Larry is on #nostr. Everyone once in a while, I go on X to see what I'm missing... and it makes me feel... less. Less hopeful. Less happy. Less connected. I don't feel that way on #nostr. Mostly, I feel more hopeful, more happy, more connected. Thank you #nostr! Well, it's mostly I follow all the bitcoiners.

When you say β€œthe N word”, do you mean nigga?
Unfortunately 2FA with phone or email is pretty awful security, as sim swaps are pretty rampant. You CAN lock your sim with a pin, and it is a good idea to in general, but usually, app based solutions are a step up, or I do see that Twitter offers hardware security keys as an option, which is even better). Glad it wasn't something higher sensitivity, but I know that Twitter's still pretty imperative on the tradfi side of things, so sorry to hear about your situation. Very telling what sort of outfit they're running that even a verified profile is being given this sort of treatment, not that its news to anyone here.
#NostrOnly is the way forward. Keep your private key safe and this will never happen here. I look forward to seeing you more around these decentralized parts, sir. πŸ«‚πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ’œ

X is doing everything in his power to kick the good people out of the platform. Sorry to hear about this Lawrence. Your new book and your takes may be making more noise than you think! πŸ‘

does voiceverify fix this?
Damn! That sucks! Bummer you had to experience it. This is confirming my intuition to move over to full time on #Nostr

I pondered on yubikeys for quite a long time. I bit the bullet a couple of months ago after my mother in law was hacked. It was easier than I thought to set up. Hope you get sorted.
Everyone who reads this needs to figure out that you cannot have any phone number associated with online accounts(so long as they allow this which most do, even google account you don't need or want to have any phone number whatsoever). Like nowhere in the whole profile or account. Need to use authenticator apps for 2FA and have absolutely no way of recovering/accessing the accounts through a phone number. This is only real way to protect from sim swaps. I'm not even sure that sim swap is what happened to him, but regardless if you aren't protected from sim swap then you aren't protected period.

It wasn’t a SIM swap. I have EFANI. I think they got access via a ZOOM call and screen sharing and they inserted malware or cloned my cookies. These guys are getting better and better. Moral: never do a ZOOM call with an unknown party. In this case I checked and the emails and names were legit Bloomberg interviewers. But of course fake.
Btw Larry, even with EFANI I would still recommend having no phone number anywhere in online accounts(unless literally can't use the app without, which is rare). Most have a private key sort of setup can use for backup + authenticator app for 2FA. Just my opinion. No phone number makes sim swap actually impossible.
Email is not bad, but only if the corresponding google account(or whatever the email account is) is itself totally locked down and secure with no openings. Which can be pretty tricky, but doable. There is a lot to completely securing online accounts on the whole. If one lil thing is missed, it can be all for nothing basically. Can be overwhelming, but just trying to provide some helpful info wherever I can.
Just a few days before that, you followed my Twitter-Account. This was huge for me, because your account there was by far the one with the most followers. I just recognized your account was gone, after I had a look at my "followers" πŸ˜‚ . My first thought was, "Oh, man! What did I post that he unfollowed me?" I'm so glad I didn't. P.S. Or did I... and you deleted your Twitter account because of that...
