why would anyone expect not to be cancelled from a liberal platform?
So, BlueSky has your name and email, has a moderation team that decides if the content of your posts is admissible, and it can switch on and off your account at will. But lots of people jumped there because it's open and decentralized. image
Everyone will eventually get censorship-resistance at the price (measured in time) they deserve.
@jack saw the writing on the wall & is a genius for jumping ship when he did. 🤝 I honestly don't see how Web 2.0 survives #Nostr.

I bet if he had posted an article arguing for the abolishment of the age of consent because it’s bourgeois, like the french cultural elite tried to do in the 70s, he would have gotten nothing but praises…
Amazon did the same thing to my seller account. I was so stoked to be on the platform... started doing YouTube product reviews, rented multiple storage sheds, quit my "engineering job" to keep up with orders and source new products... then the notice of account closure happened. No explanation. They still send me emails from time to time saying I still have some things in FBA storage??? No more corporate trust! Corporatism is just communism in disguise! Some unaccountable stooge will shut your life down with the click of a button and NO explanation! Not even middle or upper management will know or even care. There are migratory armies of these goons that infiltrate corporate capitalism on a daily basis, just looking to make trouble. Dissolve the corporations, first in your mind, then in your independent actions on uncensorable platforms like bitcoin, nostr, etc...
Thanks for spamming a fucking mainstream media link jack but I have posts about being banned by Bluesky you could repost if you ever feel like boosting signal instead of noise Same for everyone liking this fucking retarded post "oh no I got banned from Bluesky let me get published in a mainstream media source about it" glowie ass bitch
Bluesky is the social media equivalent of self-flagellation. It's a great place for people, who seeking the strictest purity test, can then enjoy the public flogging they secretly desire when they inevitably fail.
the differences between bluesky and nostr are clearer than ever. i commented on this article yesterday on Bluesky, inviting them to nostr.
Sorry this happened to you! A couple questions: -Did you by any chance start with Legal Counsel before you started your business or Corporation? -What specific legal term did you break?

We all had the unpleasant experience of coning across some people that we feel that should be banned. That they had no place speaking in any public forum. And maybe we were even right. The problem is that if you give someone the power to ban people for the right reasons, you also give them the power to ban people for the wrong reasons

💯 that’s why nostr fixes this. you can’t permanently ban someone using a protocol

So the individual user should have an opt in to a "filter/aggregator"
People who spread lies about other people can have negative impact on them and it constitutes abuse of freedom to me. For example, the 🍊 face man baby said the presidential candidate was not a US Citizen without proof. Those tweets should have been removed every time until he could prove otherwise. Do you agree?
"At last check, my post elicited more than 2,100 quote-posts and some 3,700 responses" a blusky post can generate this huge number of interactions? impressive btw.
Who should i ask to darken my counsel? I asked. They wouldn't tell me. Years later, i ran across a podcast called SilentJim and one of his guests dropped some nuggets and i think i understand a reasoning i was not notified of. I don't know and don't care now. There are going to be better platforms than corporate cancel counsels like amazon or any "legal" "counsel".
How the individual can be protected from harassment when he posts something? On X we can see people being insulted all the time. People are leaving X to Bluesky because they feel finally secured.
BO. That Trunk turd saying BO was not US born gave him too much free exposure. Similarly with every other lie he’s said. It’s the “freedom of speech” part I don’t ride with and I wish it was different in the air waves!

Ok. I had heard an argument made (not by Trump) that even Kamala Harris was not qualified to be president because neither of her parents were U.S. citizens when she was born. But anyway you don't ride with the freedom of speech" part?! 👀 True colors shining through? If someone is lying on someone, like if Trump were lying about Obama's birthplace, then Obama could sue him for defamation, like Trump did to ABC News, and won, after they settled. Let the truth come out in court, with discovery and testimony, etc.
Why is bluesky being promoted so intensely by the maintstream media and yet nostr is never mentioned. (This is actually a rhetorical question, but it still annoys me each time I see such an article)
My is that by that time the average, and some not too bright, people have made assumptions and taken sides. Yes, lawyers love lawsuits. It’s how they make most money probably. Not necessarily a good thing for freedoms of any kind. I am up for freedom of speech but somebody needs to monitor the abuses. All I’m saying.
