💯
it's actually peer-to-vexel-to-peer.
Is there a middle man fee to do this?
Is it on an open source repo? It seems amazing! Thank you!
Amazing! Sad to see that there is phone number requirement
Don't think so
In what way is it better than RetoSwap?
Drug deal workflow
Source code repo link pls
Pretty slick
Tried P2P last week and panicked… Wish I saw this sooner! Any pro tips to avoid rookie mistakes, #CryptoNewbie
i was stoked about this, until i saw the first requirement is a phone number.

Yes Vexl is open source. You can check it on GitHub!
Noo. Vexl is free!
No it’s not. Everything is just between those 2 parties.
big dog, very important for in person cash transaction
Thank you very much!!
do voip numbers work?
Can't use in US
Do it in Europe.
If true, then its dead on arrival. I'm out.
If only anyone in my contacts was into Bitcoin lol.
"On Vexl, your phone number isn’t just another detail; it’s a part of your identity."
That is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I'll pass
No thanks.
yall on the zapstore yet ?
Zapping is P2P too.
Amazing
What if instead of using the phone's contacts you only use the location? If I have to contact my friends to exchange bitcoins I can do it even without an app
Oooh Yes we succesfuly bought Bitcoin 3 times to a stranger in Nairobi all i needed was vexl and pair of glasses
dont read bad reasoning about bad decisions.
just look for non-kyc
require the phone number if you must (for DOS protection - people can always use services like sms4sats), but please make the whole orderbook available upon registration. you’re obstructing access to the whole extent of the very marketplace you’ve built, in the name of a faint (and flawed) notion of trust that ultimately nobody really cares about. having to share the full list of contacts with you only to gain access to a fraction of the offers - and only to be able to say: “look! this offer is from a total stranger who for whatever reason is among the contacts of one of the gazillion people who for whatever reason are among my contacts!” - doesn’t make any sense. let me trade with everyone, and let me keep my list of contacts private.
Don't forget to bring a gun with you...just in case.
Would you bring a gun yo meet your friend?
Yeah I care. I don’t trade with people I don’t know or trust.
I encourage you to look deeper in how it works. I don’t trade with people I don’t know. if I have 35 friends in common with an offer. I will engage with it if I have one friend in common and it’s someone that I don’t know. Sorry I have no reason to trust you
I think you’d be surprised
We are available everywhere except the United States
Not when you’re meeting a good friend
I encourage you to dig deeper and ask yourself why we use phone numbers and why it’s magical
Nonprofit for life
and by magical you mean easy to doxx.
You clearly haven’t tried to understand how it works.
Your phone number is never shared. Everything happens on your device client side. Vexl is not an exchange. Vexl does not have a wallet. It does not touch Bitcoin and it does not touch Fiat..
Vexl is essentially a chat platform that connects you with friends and friends and friends based on mutual connections. There is no way for anyone to tell if a trade happened or not. Not sure if you would be doxxing yourself to or what you would be doxxing yourself about.
There are trade-offs to anything, but ours are extremely minimal.
Do you know a better way? I’m all ears.
all youve done is ensure that any government or private intel firm can find out exactly who made transactions.
and the fact that you are stupid or arrogant enough to not understand this, discredits you entirely.
What are you even talking about? There are no evidence of any transactions that happen whatsoever. We encourage people to meet face-to-face. I would never send money to someone via the bank. I would never KYC to a centralized exchange..
Not a single transaction happens within the app all data is separated. We have no accounts.
There is nothing connecting you to an offer or a trade.
youre a fool.
and dangerous.
Please explain why?
You hurl insults rather than communicate, would love to understand how you think, and what you suggest.
YOU figure out why demanding someones phone number, and attaching it to an application on a smartphone compromises opsec.
We don’t demand your phone number. Your phone number is never shared with us or anyone. We can’t see it even if we tried..
I’m honestly asking like what do you suggest as a better way to build out a web of trust that doesn’t compromise on privacy. Or do you still suggest people use referral links for centralized exchanges and KYC?
Like I’m genuinely interested in your arguments of where your biggest concerns are and where trade-offs happen anywhere what are you OK with when it comes to buying bitcoin what’s the best way to obtain bitcoin if you were going to meet someone and teach them about Bitcoin how would you tell them to buy it?
I’m trying to solve a problem. I’m trying to make Bitcoin accessible and convenient for everyone.
Rather than call me a fool try engaging in constructive conversation and we might both enjoy it and learn something
you can be sure they do the "slingrope dance" for maximum of pleasure to use and minimum data taken. 😘

No matter how many times I say it no matter how open source everything is if you don’t have the time to try to understand, then I don’t have the time to explain it to you.
We don’t see your phone number. No one does. Everything happens on your device. Nothing happens on our servers so even if we wanted to find out your phone number we couldn’t.
Alright, you don't know it. How do you send an SMS verification? A third party company sends it? Then tell us that they know it. How do you connect people by using their phone numbers then? The numbers don't add up. You could say anything but your actions are more important
Your number is verified that your human and that it belongs to you using twilio. This is the industry standard. This is what signal uses.
But we are fully open source you can go and read and understand that everything happens client-side the numbers are hashed. You don’t have to trust us you could actually verify this.
But let’s unravel this even further I understand the concern for phone numbers and I understand that it’s a trade-off for some, but what actually does it mean?
Well, first of all, no trading actually happened on the app. Everything is settled between you and the counterparty with zero third-party input. We have no idea or no way of knowing if you traded with anyone.
So Vexl doesn’t touch Bitcoin it doesn’t fiat there is no wallet. There are no on our off-ramps.
The phone numbers are hashed so if you and I both have a mutual friend, the Hash of the number will appear the same.
This is where the magic happens because if you and I know 10 of the same people and we have their phone numbers well those number numbers are Hashed the same for us it allows us to compare them, but we know nothing other than the hashes and that’s how things are connected.
There are a records of trades. There are no rating systems that can be gamed or bought. There are no star systems that you have to trust strangers with your network is yours. We can’t see it no one but you can.
If you have a better solution I’m all ears. But currently there is nothing that can leverage your personal social graph to allow you to trade Bitcoin anonymously, privately, and with a little to no risk at all.
I’m not asking you to trust me in fact, I don’t want you to. I love skeptics. I am a skeptic. I encourage you to look deeper if you see a problem tell me let’s try to solve it.
Vexl is not about trying to make money or build a company to sell you something. Vexl’s about trying to solve a problem and that is currently we do not have a good way to buy Bitcoin securely and privately peer to peer with no KYC.
We are building Vexl because it’s what we want. I want a way that I can buy bitcoin without KYC peer to peer the way it was intended. What do you want?

Alright. Fair enough. I thought that it is just like agoradesk but with phone number requirement
You're being a dumbcunt bro.
Either read the explainer & intellectually rebutt the schema they're using to connect people P2P...or GFY.
