Will it support all people or just you?

Would be cool to have 2 sliders, 1 for Damus and one for the broader nostr people involved in building - including relays, image hosts etc

Yeah just split among top known contributor addresses
Do we have a “fund wallet” that could be used? I think Will covers all Damus devs, but general Nostr one not known to me at least. Relay operators could cover some costs with fees, but free ones are not really covered by anything 🐶🐾🫡

Ah. Maybe have some trusted member set that up who is willing to maintain the list
What makes this work? I thought you can only pay one person per invoice. Would be interesting if we still somehow have restaurant tipping culture post hyperbitcoinization.
Damus is about to release Nostr-Wallet-Connect support, which allows you to pay any invoice programmatically. This enables one tap zaps, zap splits, and more. Lots of crazy use cases around the corner.

😁 i still don't know what that is. but yea! 😉
Really great idea to do it on the sender side — can’t wait for this to roll out 🫡⚡️💜🤙
You remember the wave on new users after #Damus was released on the AppStore? Maybe this will create something similar or at least will take back some lost user. Anyway the game changer will be the day (If) you will do the #Android version.. imagine that wave of new #nostr users.. 👀🍀☯️
Instead of calling it donations, call it "tip". Apple is okay with that. Note that, Apple will still take 15-30% of tips.

Lol maybe. I work for a non-profit and we had to register and provide proof for Apple to let us take donations without them taking a cut.
I just wanted to let you know how blown away I am by your work on the Damus Network. Your relentless effort and expertise are simply amazing and have turned the network into a real game-changer. You're totally rocking it and I just wanted to tell you that.
This is an excellent initiative if done correctly. Finding the "correct" price is a shared responsibility. Bitcoin has hundreds of reasons to exist. One is that it enables low-cost payments. "Send a sat, receive a sat." or "You can send money for virtually zero fees." Of course, you can only send money if you know how and to whom. Enter nostr, problem solved. The nostr protocol has become the essential missing component to forming a community and exchanging payment addresses. And Damus is the most performant human front-end, IMHO. With the feature proposed in the above picture, I still need to figure out the correct setting. I'd like to see Damus and Will prosper. However, should it take 18%, we will have failed because those are Western Union-style fees. Ideally, the slider should guide with an upper bound below the level of the legacy financial system. On top of that, there could be a link to a donation page.

Could #zapdonate in #[3] be preset for all transactions (lower and upper bounds configured)? 1. I‘d prefer to donate always a little instead of seeing a screen each time. 2. I wouldn‘t want to share of very small or very big amounts.
Cool! Will be interesting to see how much of an inflow you will see from this. Cool way to contribute!
This is a good thing and a step in the right direction. But... Rather than adding to the zap, the zap should be split as a percentage. Much like how @Dave Jones has created with @Adam Curry https://github.com/Podcastindex-org/podcast-namespace/blob/main/value/value.md If done this way a user could setup splits in their profile and any days sats sent or received could be automatically routed to recipients On May 5th, and the 12th Adam demonstrates how this system could work to completely remove all middlemen in the music business. Episodes 131 and 132 of Podcasting 2.0 podcast And it's NOT a tip, it's v4v, value for value. value4value.info A lot of work has already been done so there's no need to reinvent the wheel. With that said any kind of support model that arises is better than nothing. Kudos! 🙂
You should have a modal when first signing in/up that asks if they want to opt in to that! Otherwise only users who go to settings and turn it on will use it, and most won’t do that.
Its hidden in the settings! I realized users very rarely go into settings so I’m putting configurable things in ui elements now

User activity dependent sponsoring, unlike fixed interval subscription this feels right, intuitive. Smart thinking.
we need let pple in Twitter they can actually use 8 bucks for something useful - not giving Linda more ammo to push centralised finance agenda!
