It kinda isn't used as money though. Until a Layer 2 (or 3 or 4...) solution is created that actually works it won't be used as money & will remain as digital gold used for saving. What percentage of people who own bitcoin use it as money?
Its a peer to peer electronic cash system thats what the white paper says. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ Ppl are still blinded by fiat. In the future it will be normal to shop at local shops with btc.
Yes the white paper does say that but in practical terms that's just not the case. If it was we'd use it that way but it's not possible. Obviously it can never be done on the base layer so until a Layer 2 solution is built that allows for large scale transactions to work fast & easily it won't be used as digital cash equivalent to fiat. It will be years if not decades before that happens, if it ever does. That's why in countries that have weak currencies & high inflation people use stablecoins, they are more equivalent to using cash than bitcoin.
