The thing that made Twitter good was the character limit. Without that now it is just Facebook.

It is possible to have a good or a bad time on any social media. The key factor is how we curate our individual feeds and I feel like it’s the same with Nostr as well.

Twitter was never good, social media can’t be good.
Correction: what made Twitter nice was the cyber hornets moving out of Reddit to avoid theymos moderation on #bitcoin topic. Before that Twitter was only boomers running for elections.

A short character limit promotes a certain type of writing and trains the author to write in a certain way, leaving little room for nuanced takes. This way of communicating has some advantage but many pitfalls as well.
Two things which made Twitter so polarising was the rage & engage algorithm and the character limit which made sure no one could be understood properly.
But this isn't twitter or facebook, it's nostr. Freedom tech to do as you please, post like twitter, post like facebook, start your own node with limitations of your choosing... isn't that on you?

#Facebook is number one in social media, and it is natural to imitate it
How about big posts optionally appearing as short TLDR 140char snippets (edited by author), and the read more button revealing the full post/context. Instead of big posts showing the first few lines on most apps and Read More revealing the rest.
No, this is what made Twitter so horrible, because you were only able to do insults and short gotchas. So everyone would do that rather than write something meaningful and well thought-out. Eventually people become totally insane from all the harassment and low-quality replies. This can be observed on many prominent Twitter/X celebs.
Speak your mind. Long and short. The current state of the world is to train everyone to be ADD and reject anything longer than a 2 second sound bite or phrase… It’s intentional to make us stupid and make us forget how to converse.
what made twitter good is all the abuse that used to take place there separating the wheat from the chaff. now it's just facebook. character limit is only useful for making subhuman illiterate apes feel like they're equal to brilliant writers.
not quite... what distinguishes Facebook from Twitter is the audience. On Facebook it defaults to "people you have added" whereas Tweets are public for all to reply to. That's the big difference, not really the character limit...
Nostr need better algorithm to filter and what show Way too much garbage and translated(bad) posts Be possible to choose the languages you want see the posts will improve the usage
I'd like to mention that if a flat screen of any size is present, move to an area that is without one...
