highly regarded. this is peak central planning vibes. Ignore the market then tell the market what is easier for them despite the conclusion the market already arrived at. Completely retarded.
I’ve spent a long time among tech trends and users. This isn’t the last little change in the Bitcoin world that will try to ease things for users without jacking up the usability. Get used to it. Something will eventually stick. It barely matters.
Not an opinion given. That’s just the perspective I end up landing with when I see someone with audience make a UX call I don’t agree with. Ignore my post. Just my cope.
I don’t think it matters In fact i kinda like it Guess my opinion doesn’t matter either tho…. Damn
"Fr fr! But what’s your go-to slang for 'sats' then? 🤔💬 #WordPlay"
I feel bad for all those people running small bitcoin businesses that incorporated 'sats' into their business names, who, for years, have been the real face of bitcoin as money, who will now be left explaining twice as much as they already were, lest change all their names and logos and legal filings... Bitcoin might not care, but people can. Sad day.
Didn't know about that. Just checked the settings and it shows that b sign (formerly sats). Just like our government, changing things without a vote, and for no good reason

Not a fan; but this is not one of the hills I'm willing to die on. It feels like @Cash App and the whole Block ecosystem has a better shot at drawing in more normies than any other bitcoin project for the forseeable future. If @jack wants to use “₿”, then so be it. As far as I'm concerned, the sooner the rest of us get onboard, the better for everyone. I surrender. That being said, "₿ is the smallest unit of bitcoin..." doesn't make much sense if you don't tell normies how to pronounce it. Tell them that “₿” is the symbol for "sats" if that's the intent. I fear that's not the intent, though. I suspect they really want to call it "bitcoin", and couldn't bring themselves to say so in this notice - because of how patently silly it would have been to say "Bitcoin is the smallest unit of bitcoin..." That *IS* a hill I am willing to die on.

God willing, one day in the not too distant future, even @Cash App will have to recognize smaller units of Bitcoin such as millisatoshis. I wonder if @jack would just try redine "bitcoins" again? or if he would finally see what an unforced error it is to try to do so in the first place.

The "$5 in bitcoin" was just easier to say instead of 100ksats... Now that 1k is as easy as 1$ I think they just want to make sure people will keep on in fiat..... Sad
