I'll say it again for people in the back that didn't hear it. We're all here because we recognize what's wrong with legacy social communication. Nostr is an open protocol. There is no correct path forward. There are only user choices. You can also tell me to go fuck myself if you don't believe me or like what I said. That's the beauty of all of this. Keep building.

Nope. Your wrong. Only what I believe is right and I believe that everyone should have the freedom to think and do what they want as long as it is what I think is right.

Lots of words with little insight.
Not really. A personal inbox/outbox relay is cheap or near nothing to run. Now, large public relays are a different story. I don't make a sat from nostrelites.org but a lot of people use it. Perhaps these relays die off in the future and smaller, cheaper relays are the path forward.
Many different funding options will be tried, because each client and approach will be different. Not all funding models will work for all clients.
Still waiting for you to stop doubling down on gaslighting and time-wasting. Admit those are what you were doing here, not merely being "confused" - and if you want to apologize, offer substantial help with the same power you've abused here, or a relinquishing of that power, instead of empty words. image View quoted note β†’
Not worth reading. Ask him if he remembers me, my username on there was "blocked by pfrazee" because he blocked me when I got mad at him and his henchmen for targeting suicidal people
Of course, like all of us. Like all people. It's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain humanity online, and the nostr, as I see it today, somehow still allows to do this.
The Damus team can barely keep their doors open and they’re one of the most successful projects on Nostr. Chris Dixon is convinced protocols alone don’t have a path forward. Blockchains & tokens can transform protocols from altruistic utilities into thriving ecosystems. Why would a bright young engineer build on Nostr if there is little to no economic incentives to do so? @fiatjaf @jack
Super intrigued on how open this feels. I started out feeling that way on Twitter and Tumblr, but soon saw corporations come in and upend all the organic momentum and turn them into auction houses.
Lol i had to. But I definitely agree. I don't know who said it first, but I think somebody smart said that nostr is new, and literally everything will be tried, even models you don't agree with. We're all just trying to figure out how to best use this shit. And what's best for one might not be best for the other.

Everybody: go f**k yourselves! image
Don’t worry about the trolls 🧌 Just keep building If they want to argue, then can learn to code and build it how they want it. If they don’t want to learn to code or build things, then fuck em. Don’t feed the trolls.
Sell outs are not the best option and more like a scams. I like idea of volunteer support like primal β€œbecome a legend” doing it.. maybe @jb55 can copy it on Damus and other clients can adopt similar approaches
Go fuck yourself. Just kidding, I'm only testing NOSTR's resilience. Where is that community note that's going to get me banned?
If I'm not mistaken Damus already have special badges for supporters. But it's hard to imagine that yielding enough money to pay for a "bright young engineer" that could be scamming people for millions on Solana.

"There's no correct path forward" -- we are actively looking for one. There are better and worse paths. No single person can solve it. We need all the eyes and all the brains to find it. We are the algorithm!
Well reason is people are illiterate and stupid f you shout here nostr is not so widespread and media doesn’t care about this platform. When we have more users then this revolution gonna happen.
@fiatjaf it is easy to believe most crypto projects are scams, because they are. I agree. It’s naive to ignore how to improve economic incentives for Nostr builders. That’s my goal. I don’t have the answers. Thank you for your work.
Well, I guess if the client apps get monetized through subscriptions, maybe the client apps can support the network relays, developers and other infrastructure. I kinda like the idea of apps competing for subscriptions by providing more and better services, including ad-blocking. image
