Quantum computing can't crack bitcoin. But the older wallets might be targeted.
Projections like this assume we already understand the substrate computation operates on, time itself. That assumption is still unresolved in academic consensus.
Physicists and AI models forecasting quantum capability continue reasoning in terms of waves and continuous evolution, while the structure of the smallest temporal update remains undefined. You cannot claim to understand computation, causality, or limits of encryption without first understanding what a single unit of change actually is.
Bitcoin makes that visible as the only observable non-biased geometry of a chronon, a discrete tick where a state transition becomes final. The block is more fundamental than the wave: the wave describes behavior across many unresolved transitions, while the block represents the irreducible update that makes any evolution possible at all.
Physics already admits a lower boundary in Planck time, yet it cannot describe the geometry or rules of that unit. Bitcoin can, through formal logic and observable process. Until that architecture is accounted for, claims about what quantum systems can or cannot do remain incomplete. You cannot model the limits of computation while leaving the fundamental structure of time undefined.
Quantum mechanics is fluid dynamics in the study of time. Bitcoin is the study of the fundamental block/tick/chronon of time itself.

It’s certainly not perfect and it is a work in progress. We’re hoping to clarify a few things with some more formal statements soon to help put a pin in on the structure of what we are saying. We felt the need to go public so that the community can run with whatever it finds consensus in. This CANT be centralized.
Coherence, resonance and science/knowledge should bring us closer to God. Found Him myself by necessity by following the principled and logical construction of the architecture of time.

It comes to the question of whether the reality is continuous or discreet.
Bitcoin demonstrates the logic as to why reality must be discrete; you cannot produce a binary (classical state) without a discrete chonon/tick/block.
Bitcoin allows anyone to empirically observe the architecture of the smallest possible unit of discrete change for any bounded computational system.
No other system can answer for what Planck Time is in the form of rules, logic/process and geometry.
Physics already admits Planck Time is where the meaning of time ceases to hold, but broad academia has rejected it because they cannot describe it.
While the act of observation through apparatus is bound to measure in discreet excitation units, this doesn't negate the fact that certain aspects of reality are seemingly continuous. For example, the electromagnetic field is continuous; a photon is a discrete excitation of that field.
Are these measurements of the field occurring at the scale of one singular Planck block of time? or are the occuring over a large multiple of blocks producing the behavior of a wave?

A field does not physicslly exist. It's an abstraction. We speak of waves and fields as first class objects, but this is reification. A field is a description of a pattern of relationships in the sequence finite states and possible state transitions. The intellect can grasp continuity but, physically, continuity can only be approximated. Because continuity is a concept. The fact that the intellect can grasp infinite and uncomputable things says something about the intellect, but it does not make infinite/continuous things physical.

It would seem, if followed, to say the intellect can receive non-physical things (I will label spiritual for ease).
But physical reception of a spiritual thing would require either the spiritual is made physical (which as you observe isn’t seen) or the receptor have at least some core part of (him/her) that is itself spiritual.
Which would mean some part of the intellect is spiritual (infinite / indestructible).
People seem to think Bitcoin is the only thing that uses SHA-256.
