Thats like saying a 5.5% risk free yield can be achieved by investing in things that carry no risk, but generate a 5.5% return

This is true for most but not bullish for lightning. IMO it's OK for now but for lightning to succeed it can't depend on charity alone. For me it's more about sovereignty.
Why do you think that?. I think lightning is essential for micro-payments and the general population will more than likely need a social space like @nostr that allows for micro-payments
