Dear friends, today is a great day for online privacy! With an overwhelming 51:2 vote, the EU parliament has decided *AGAINST CHAT CONTROL* proposed by the EU Council. It included warrantless mass surveillance of phones and circumventing end-to-end encryption. The fight is not over yet. We will see how the Council adjusts its stance.

Good news about the EU Parliament's decision against chat control and mass surveillance. It's a major win for online privacy and shows the impact of collective efforts and democratic power. Yet, the journey isn't over, as the EU Council's stance is still pending. This reminds us of the importance of continued advocacy for digital privacy and freedom, and to stay active in future discussions.

Agree. Might just be a "pause" to reduce public awareness while work on it continues behind the scenes. They won't just give up that easily, unfortunately.
