Notifications off AND silent mode (not even vibration).

so um... are you gonna say to your boss "i turned off my notifications to prevent this little rectangle control me" when they are waiting answer from you?
Lucie is afraid of the notification noise of phones. All friends know to turn it off in her presence. It turns into a peace bringer - and people rarely complain.
It's actually great. It's a small service that pulls new notifications for your npub. So instead of an app pushing to your phone, it just notifies you when something happens on nostr that's relevant for you. And as nostr is a a protocol it doesn't even matter which client you are using.

I will never let my family on hold, they are the most important thing to me and the smartphone brings us together. It's the closest of an emulation of living together in a native tribe
24/7/365 do not disturb with selective notifications was the best decision I ever made. The few apps that are allowed to show notifications don't get my attention, and the ones that do are from a few starred contacts I'd die for. That's how I plan to live the rest of my life if tech is to remain in it.
yes im not dumb bro lol im an IT guy actually but without a job on purpose lol services is running, subscribed, its says it notifications that the service is running, notifications never arrive lol i tried it with other unified push eg. ntfy, same thing happened (altho play services blocked on my phone maybe its because of that but if it needs play services i dont want it anyways lol)

Sad. ... to choose to live in such an emulation, I mean.

I have mine silent, and set ro not vibrate (except for alarms). Notifications are still on. What really sucks, is I have one app that vibrates every time I'm using it.

I put the camera-side down (selfie camera has gorilla tape on it), and the screen only lights up if an alarm goes off, or when a call is successful at coming through.

If I'm not at work, they can wait until I am. If I am at work, I'm too busy working to be on the phone at anyone's demand. They can email me, or meet in-person.
💯. All Apps I use aside from telegram have notification turned off by default. Telegram is the exception because I use it for custom bots I create. Friends/family on WhatsApp wondering why I don't respond often not knowing I've turned off notifications. The trick though on WhatsApp is even with notifications turned off, if someone calls, it rings but you do not see the notification. Would have to open the app to answer the call.
My oldest daughter has this figures out but only for my texts and calls 🤔
Had my phone like that for 10+ years, longer than I remember. So important for a happy life to control yourself and not be controlled by others. image
Exactly 👏🔥 The dopamine rush is all about that notification sound 😱 Best settings no notification on anything except for incoming calls and text from your loved ones ❤️
If it's important it will be a text message or a phone call. I have those set to max volume. Everything else either disabled or muted. Nothing on social media is ever important enough that it needs your attention right then and there.

Oh, I guess it only doesn't vibrate if I post from the notifications screen. 🤔

Test: Actually the lack of vibration only comes from the "Reply" field of the Notifications screen.
