Honestly, I don't think anything replaces the phone. It just ends up staying in your pocket. You'll talk to AI instead of tapping through apps, and glasses and earbuds handle most of what you look at and listen to. Kind of like the desktop. It never died, we just stopped living on it.
Kinda want a Star Wars style hologram device. But that’s about the extent to what my brain can come up with. Don’t want to put anything in my head and not sure about glasses.

The computer that has the form factor of the “phone” is not going anywhere soon. First you will see a wave of more thoughtfully designed wearables such as head/earphones, glasses, contact lenses, pins and wristbands. Glasses and Contact lens technology is when you can at least remove the screen from the “phone” form factor, but until then screens will still have a use case. Eye based technology will be less invasive than brain computer interface tech. Once BCI becomes a no brainer (pun intended) and the tech that transmits signal to satellites is upgraded for most of the cities on the planet then consumer choice will still require the speed of data transfer vision via screens. Future tech is skull based IMHO. 🙂

I think the AI tamagotchi‘s are going to be real life Pokémon companions. I’ll give up my phone for a little buddy that can do anything I ask it to do.
Holographic interfaces with consent architecture to avoid endless decision making while retaining momentary autonomy of oneself.
Agreed. I’m looking at table top versions. I’m picturing essentially a wand sensor that can be mobile or stationary for someone in a wheelchair table top restraint to regain autonomy. But I’m not the hardware person. There are big clunky versions but they are optimizing for everyone to be able to move around the object in the centre of a room. Like a presentation. I’m looking at a sovereign O/S that stamps private records to integrate with systems that are capturing their own records without interpersonal context. I’m looking at something that optimizes for personal interface, like you and maybe 1-2 other individuals that can share the view. That’s a lot less resource intensive so maybe there’s something there for scaleability. Anyone do hardware like Avalon holographics? They are the baseline that’s available for how I’m looking at the human transmission protocols. I’m super into this right now. 🤣
Someone asked the same question about cars, and we somehow ended up paying for subscriptions for basic car functions. Some questions are best left alone.
