Still gold! “The first follower transforms a lone nut into a leader”. Learned more about leadership, followers and movements in a 3min video than in some leadership course at uni 😂

We got momentum, there is not risk to join in 🫡 Wise words and a great laugh. 😁
Man do we appreciate Hal as the first follower of the bitcoin network, Salud Hal 🍻
This vid has changed my life in many ways over the yrs. Being weird and awkward is always the first sign of any movement when the first follower sticks around. 🧡🧡🧡

It’s like the number of people starting to learn about Bitcoin and using Nostr, as Jack Dorsey said, just keeps growing more and more.
The powerful forces of social psychology at work. Always fascinating to watch.
This is how the MAGA movement started. A talentless clown attracted a large group of less talented people to embarrass themselves publicly. And take pride in it.
After several years now living in MAGA country, I have yet to see any of the clowns that are all over the news. I'm no fan of Trump, but it's clear to me now that the primary reason his movement has gained so much traction is because the establishment is a disaster for most Americans.
"Leadership is over glorified. Yes, it started with the shirtless guy, and he'll get all the credit. But you saw what really happened. It was the first following that transformed a lone nut into a leader. There's no movement without the first following. See, we're told that we all need to be leaders, but that would be really ineffective. The best way to make a movement, if you really care, is to courageously follow and show others how to follow. When you find a lone nut doing something great, have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in." View quoted note →
Republicans be like “America is the greatest country in the world but it’s completely awful, I hate it, and everything sucks”.
I guess there might also be a distinction between a team and a movement. Latecomers to a movement might start putting the people who started the movement on a pedestal. Maybe it's just human nature...
I don't understand why I recognized this video so quickly from so many years ago when my memory is so fried it can take me a minute to notice I'm watching the same episode of a show I saw a week ago
