i think software engineers and designers building protocols/experiences need a “do no harm” moral code like doctors have.
the recklessness of some people is appalling.
i feel like there is somewhat of a moral code at apple as far as an illusion of privacy, a mirage of effort there, the hot air of do good words. at least their messaging is hopeful and encouraging at times. seems albeit idealistic but from what i’ve gathered this weekend, nostr creates the opportunity for manifesto and adherence with accountability, a healthy silo. but i agree, tech leads to as much harm as it’s done good without oaths like these. (and like some have mentioned, doctors can do horrible things too) alas, it’s a step in the right direction.
Imho I don’t think you’d end up being a builder here if your morals would not align, but I have been proven to be naive in that regard.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
No surprise to see jb55 in favor of a code of conduct, a favorite tool used by those looking to infest open source projects with woke ideology. Core is a DEI woke cesspool because of devs like jb.
