I am sure some will have great things to say about Gab but Torba had to do the same thing on his platform. He doesn't get the advertising dollars and mainly is supported by his users but the bots got so bad posting media he couldn't keep up with the storage costs and he had to start having people buy subscriptions to post media or use third party sites and link it. Bots are obviously used for different purposes by different groups to achieve a goal.
What he says is quite stupid. Bots owners will not mind paying a few cents if their spam is still profitable.
I receive paid spam in my physical mail box, and I have been receiving it for decades. Because it is profitable to pay a few cents and even a few dollars if enough people fall into the trap.
